Default Wrong Stereo Head Unit?

Hey folks...

I purchased a 2006 Scion xA just a week ago. This is the standard model, with the AUX in and no iPod kit. (I do have an iPod, but couldn't afford it.)

After searching the radio manual, I couldn't find anything about the AUX in. The jack is there between the seats, but there's no AUX button on the stereo...

(Sorry, it's dark here and the flash on my camera isn't the greatest.)

A double check at the Scion site shows I should apparently have this stereo:

So, did the dealer screw up? They had to install the stereo when I picked up the car, which seemed kind of odd.

Thanks for any insights...

Chris

You bought it brand new?.. If you did then you got jacked...take it back and let them know about it.. What good is an Aux in if you cant use it... Best of luck..

Yep - brand new. Had to wait two weeks for delivery, too! To top it off, I'm still waiting for my hubcaps, which were apparently on "backorder."

Thanks to ProshopXB and Xb_Stud. I just left a firm but polite voicemail with the salesman that sold me the xA, and am thinking of asking for a free upgrade to the radio with iPod kit in return for the inconvenience. Anyone have any thoughts on whether that's fair to ask for?
All in all I love this car and want to get into customizing it once the spring starts, but the local Toyota/Scion dealer has left a bad taste in my mouth.

No I dont think that is too much to ask for.. the car has an AUX port in it you should be able to use it... you paid for it so you should get what you paid for.. It would only be the right thing for the dealership to do and take care of you.. I have seen this happen before and they told the dealership about it and they took care of it.. If they dont there are other options.. Let us know how it turns out..

Anything is negotiable.

Ask them to demonstrate the AUX in feature that you paid for! Bring your owner's manual and a showroom brochure. I would take lots of photos and ask for the upgrade for your inconvenience.

If they squawk, let them know that you will want to see what Scion Corp. thinks about the incorrect/non 2006 radio given you and why the radio is not as shown in your sales brochure, before accepting any exchanges or replacements.

WTF, no hubcaps too?

Pull a 2006 Scion Book off of their sales rack and ask them why you didn't get the radio shown on page 18. They will swap it out and give you the correct radio. Someone in parts just screwed up. One thing I've noticed about Scion Dealers. NO ONE STOCKS ANYTHING!!! I waited two weeks for floor mats
