Default xB Alarm system, HELP PLEASE!!!!

I recently removed the xB OEM alarm security system. In P.R. all the cars sold with factory alarms installed. I removed the module, shock sensor, led light and wire harness. But when I press the beeper, the xB locks and unlock, still working. Hmm.. additional factory keyless entry.. but in where???

I will install a complete alarm security system with keyless entry and remote starter.

Question to the alarms installer’s gurus…

I need to remove the factory keyless entry module to install a new alarm that already includes this feature?

If the answer is yes, Where is it?

Thanks a lot!

My factory keyless entry works, even after I had a shop install a Clifford alarm. So, to answer your question, no, you do not need to remove the factory keyless entry.

Should you? I don't know.

Usually factory keyless entry is part of a control module, usually the body control module. If this is the case, you can't remove it.

Double check the Tech section.

I had a Viper Alarm installed and they didn't remove the facotry keyless entry. There's really no need. My factory keyless entry key still work, but there's no need to use them.
Good Luck.

there's a DIY diagram of how to install an aftermarket alarm for the xB - no need to remove the stock keyless (its a nice backup if everything else fails imho - i install scion alarms, its a breeze)

This means that I can install the aftermarket alarm with this own keyless entry and the factory keyless entry don’t affect or interrupt the function of keyless entry of the aftermarket alarm or viseversa? And will work both? The aftermarket keyless entry and the factory keyless entry?

i am a professional installer. you do not need to disconnect your factory keyless. your domelights will automatically come on when you disarm your alarm and turn off when you arm the alarm just like it does with the factory key fob.

it sounds like your parking lights are not hooked up to the aftermarket alarm and the siren is shut off for arm/disarm. easy fix-but who installed it and what kind is it?

The factory keyless entry will unlock the car, but will NOT disable the car alarm. So, while you can unlock the doors, you still have to disable the alarm. But, neither will interfere with each other. With the alarm, you would simply be tapping into the unlock wires and sending the necessary positive or negative signal to open and close the doors (basically, bypassing the factory unlock module).
