xB Fiberglass Enclosure
Looking to see what it would cost to get an entire rear hatch fiberglassed to hide my amp and 15" sub. It does NOT need to be painted it will be dipped by patterntek.
Also know anybody that is selling a custom enclosure?
I got a quote from a local shop.
What I want is a system that had a enclosed amp with hidden wires. I want that to be placed on the left back side. I would then want the right side to curve up and aim the sub towards my back hatch window.
Reason I am looking for comparative prices is because the quote of 950 seemed high for an unfinished (not bondo and sanded) enclosure.
I am open to taking one that is not built EXACTLY like this if I could save a few bucks

it's actually quite easy to fiberglass if you ask me. i have a setup idea that makes two JBL W10GTI MKII subs so sit in reverse mount on the sides of the quater panels and the amps to sit into the floor *i have no cargo stuff in the back*. you COULD do it on the rear hatch... but i don't think it's strong enough to hold that kind of load.
950 isn't too bad of a price really, a DIY job would be roughly 400 for me for the fiberglassing materials alone if not more. i know that CarToys charges an obscene 4,000+ for a set of two 10 inch enclosures NOT painted or sanded... so you're getting a pretty good deal i think.
