Default XM question.

I did a few searches, maybe I dont know how to search, but everything except XM radio info shows up.

ANyways, my question is.
I have a Pioneer GEX-P900XM tuner, from my old car.
Will this XM tuner work with the 2006 tc radio?
Does anyone know what tuner you get when you buy the XM radio upgrade?

Any info anyone has would be appreciated greatly. Thanks guys.

OK, new question to add on.
Why is the XM reciver $450 from the scion website, but straight from pioneer http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...617510,00.html it is only $120?
Do I need a special one to work with the tc deck, or is it fine to get the one from pioneer. Even scionpartspeople.com sells it for $267. Which is wayy more than just buying it from Pioneer.

hmm, that might be an option.

hmm, maybe I should have posted this in the electrical section?

EDIT: Ok, I just read that our Stereos dont have IP-BUS connections, so I guess you have to buy the toyota one?
Damn, so lame =P

Not sure what kind of receiver you have, but for instance the delphi products can plug directly into the aux input in the console, or you can use an FM modulator since there is no tapedeck...

Hope that helps...

Much cheaper to just do that and save $300...

nope. i have the same tuner as you. trust me, it will not work. that tuner was nice back in the day, but spend a little money and you can get a skyfi2 tuner, which is much better.
i have one on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=5803167261
if you want it.
you'll need an auxillary input adapter:
http://www.logjamelectronics.com/pietoy03aux.html
and a headphone jack that splits into rca's.

scion's headunit uses a proprietary ip bus jack. i asked the dealer before i bought my car, he said nope. i didn't believe him and tried it after i got my car...it didn't work.

hope this helps

actually, come to think of it. you already have an input headphone jack, you wouldn't need the auxillary input adapter, just a headphone to headphone cord

The wire is just a 1/8" rca stereo cord, which is in the $5 range at target/radioshack etc.
