Funny this thread came back. since my last post, I had the Cusco upper nuts( ) drilled out to fit the ES struts. Here comes the outragous part. I pushed the plates in to what I guessed would be -6 degrees. Took the car for an alignment and the gauge said -1.24 and -1.27. Now that's one hell of a positive camber problem, huh? I'm still at the point I want to be. I wonder if there are lower control arms that fit out car that are from a different car that have a wider track to push out the bottoms of the wheels. I would much rather have that. easier adjustments then.
But I did this right after HIN Chicago cuz a few guys came by and knocked my camber prob. I was a bit embarrased and told them it seemed to be an equipment problem. Now it's no longer a problem with the exception of the ridiculous unfixable rattle. God, I have to fix it quick. Any fixes for this "other" ES problem?

JDMJim...thanks for following up with your experiences. I am in contact with MyBox (of JDM Palace) from here on SL and he's working on hooking me up with the Cusco camber plates with the correct setup for the SAE ES struts. As soon as we finalize the details I'm sure I'll be ordering as I need to correct this positive camber. As for lower control arms that push the bottom out, I'd like to see that too but not at the expense of having the bottom be as far out as the top is now. I'd really like to see my front wheel/tire setup able to be tucked once I get the camber plates on and by pushing the bottom out to match the top I know there's no way that'd be possible.

As for the rattle, I seem to be getting it from the driver's side only. I haven't investigated it yet as I've been concerned with this camber problem & getting it aligned for now. If I come up with a fix for the rattle I'll definitely let you know.

there are some pics of a setup from Japan somewhere on here. Looks cool that the front and rear wheels are lined up both down the bodyline and camber wise.

see how that silver bB has some wicked front camber? I have to believe those are controls arms doing that.

this one just for fun, but this would be my next step in the evolution of my xB.

I wouldn't put money on that. I'd bet that car runs something like the cusco plates. But the air stuts they run most likely allow the wheels to naturally camber. Then they use the plates to get the deep camber look.

Airlift has stated before that they "corrected for negative camber problem". But they really screwed up the design, then their half ___ quality control let the problem get worse. My struts are very early and don't get near as positive as some of the newer ones I've seen. My are closer to 0.

I definitely have to agree that there is something pushing the bottom of the front tires out on that silver one. It's not just negative camber for sure, the bottom is way too far out to be stock.

And while I like the looks of that body kit in the 2nd pic, that's just way too much negative camber for my liking...especially the rear. I'm not knocking it, it's just not my style

I'd be happy if my camber was close to zero...it's so far in the positive that it's easily noticed by the naked eye. I guess airlift did correct the negative camber problem, but at the expense of massive positive camber LOL
Oh well, I ordered the Cusco camber plates tonite and they should be here before long. I just wish they weren't so darn expensive or that the front struts were camber adjustable themselves. This was something I hadn't even considered when I started into the whole air suspension setup.
