Default looking for help on tire size

**please don't reply if you don't know your shizz.**

ok so i got 225/40-18 tires for my new axis decades and with my current drop, the front rubs like crazy when there are dips in the road. also, i still have some thread on my teins and would like to go lower if possible. i'm thinking about getting new tires if rolling the fenders doesn't help. what should i go with?

215/35-18 or 205/40-18(stretched)

keep in mind i put 75 mi on my car mon-fri. i've heard strecthing tires causes them to wear a lot faster so the second option is my least favorite - even though i know it'll look sick!

well its all about percentages. this is the reason tires are made in profiles as small as 20

The reason your current tires are hitting everything is because they are 5.7% taller than stock. that's 2/3 of an inch reduced tire clearance.

205/40r18 = 3.0% taller than stock
215/35r18 = 0.8% tall

You'd better run the 215/35r18.

18's w/35's recommended.

I have JIC FLT-a2's, maxed out, dropped as low as they can go, I still dont get any wheel rub

.........the only time they did actually rub was when I had a full load of friends doing 85 (n/a) slamming into a couple of trench plates pegged drinkin Yahoo's...

I also run a set of 15's with 50 series when Im feeling sporty.
