Man, I hate (love ...) reading threads like this because it makes me want to spend money!

So it would seem that the Work EOrolines are "the" VIP wheel of the moment. What are some other rims that you would consider a high quality vip type rim? I know there is the Jline (my personal current favorite) but are there any others? Would mesh type or 5 spoke types be considered more sporty?

Well Jlines arent really considered to be VIP. The main VIP wheels brands are usually from Japan. Work, WEDS, Rays, SSR, Amistad, AME etc... There are many more out there.

The only reason why most people only see WORK is because they are readily available to us here in the US. Its still rather difficult for most to get the other brands. In due time things will change and those other brands will become easier to get. The VIP market is still relatively new to the US.

Mesh type and 5 spoke can be VIP but it all depends on the overall flow of the car. If the car is geared toward VIP and the mesh or 5 spoke wheels have very good fitment then yes they an be VIPstyle. The regular mesh type 5 spoke replica wheels from US brands are not VIP.

I can tell that its not VIPstyle but it will be ok and if the fitment isnt right they wont be VIPstyle at all, your on a budget and if you can get the Eurolines it would pay to get those and have a good quality wheel. Cheap wheels come can come back to haunt you in several ways.

thanks for the info!

I though jlines wer made in Japan!!! hence the "j" but i guess tey're not.

But are the Work Eurolines really readily available? I don't know of a single socal shop that has them in stock and that the current wait time is something like 3 to 5 months.

I will say this though, your vipstyle boxes are the bomb. the stance, the fitment, it's really mind blowing. I still don't see how you can drive around on it without getting some rub! I mean the rear tire is practically touching the fender. Certainly there is some flex that causes things to touch. But I guess not! And the front...are you really able to go full lock without rubbing? That is incredible.

most shops won't have the Work Eurolines in stock, but i do know for sure though, that the people i deal with, if you want those wheels, they'll work their hardest to get them to you within at max..a month.

tip: learn how to network..that's how i get hooked up

wheels(that fit right) are build to order. u specify size, width,
offset, color, type of lip, etc.
then the order is placed. takes them at least a week or two to finish that order. now it takes time for the shipping.
if u overnight them... u can get a set of rims in less than a month.

onetongarage.com has treated MANY people right.
heard a lot of good things with autornd as well.

everything is in Cali though, i wonder if anyone in FL has any of the Equip's on an xB? I'd say any Work wheel in general but StylebB has that one covered

I still really like the look of the 01's, old-schoolish and they look sweet on an 86 (i like drift styling too, even though i'm in no way trying to drift the xB)

bBoxed, by a lot of fender work what do you mean? I'm assuming you just "rolled" them out? Did you have any problem with the inside sidewall rubbing in the front or rear? Also, what is a good size tire (and brand for that matter) for the equips 15x8? (i'm assuming 15x8 01's are the same as the 03 15x8's?) Thanks man. I like the stance with the Equips on air (i love the work that was put into this xB):

That's pretty damn low, i'm guessing that because the wheels are only 15" you can get the body pretty low (i know that has a lip kit). I wonder how much bigger from the ground to the top of your 18" tires (with the Euro's) is than the 15" with the beefy tires? I like the look of that xB with the fenders too, does anyone know if they were custom made or?

And i'm liking the ride height that xB had(i assume this is the ride height?):

it all will depend on the sizes and things like that to determine the VIPness of it, but that wheel is hot!

is that a new sport max coming out or is that just one you're getting? *scratches head wondering*

the lip on that is huge. definetly interested to know what kinda wheel that is.

It'd be nice to see those be available in 17 inch. Also some deep 16's would be nice too!
