I really wondered this because I think it would look a lot cleaner with just the white headlights and no ugly yellow lights on the side. But then they would still light up when you turn.

Sure...The easy way would be to cut the power to the parking light. The turn signals are a dual filament bulb. One filament lights up when you turn the parking lights/headlights on (this is the one you want to cut), and the other turns on when you hit the turn signal. If you cut the one, the other will still function when you hit the turn signal.

^ That will work but you put yourself at risk for getting a ticket.

you can change to white turn signal bulbs, how about that? some states allow white front turn signals.

Just because you see others do it that doesn't make it legal.

Vehicles are subject to government regulations. So car lighting is regulated by the "Big Brother".

If you search the forums you'll find many lighting specific laws posted in other threads. Tomas posts many of them (that might help you in your serrches).

I'd put in some white, or superwhite bulbs.
While it's not technically legal here in IL to not have a set of amber up front, I doubt you'd get hassled as much for white as opposed to nothing.
