Default Colgan Bra FYI

Just a quick FYI if you purchase a bra from colgan. They never have them in stock and you will be waiting 4-8 weeks to receive it. I just ordered one a few weeks ago for a friend for his birthday gift and i got a message today saying it would be done the 20th or so of October.

I've heard nothing but good things about these bra's for cars but this is f-n stupid. its a shame i'm poor and cant afford the clear bra otherwise i would have told them to eat a dick and to give me my money back.

I feel your pain, they said the same thing to me too. But I wasn't about to order a Lee Bra and do more damage than without a bra. Seems like a bunch of clowns run the place because when I returned my 1st bra since it was not the right one, they said no one there knew how to ship out my 2nd bra and I had to wait till the next day when someone comes in that knows how to ship it. Ridiculous, and this is a manufacturer, not some small distributor. They do make the best bras, but they have the worst customer service.

People wonder why I rent cars any time I leave Orlando, my reason above and less mileage on my xB.

I explained that the product kicked ___. But I am frustrated that it wont be here for 8 weeks. I've said that twice now. I ment noone harm with my comments, i just wanted to inform everyone that if they are going to purchase a bra from colgan and they are expecting to have it before a trip they are going to make.. they may as well rent a vehicle

I would personally go with a Clear Bra and think that it is much better than those other types of bra's that you can take on and off. But thats my own personal opinion. Take a look at www.Rockblocker.com or message Rockblocker here for any questions.

That clear bra is a nice idea but unless you live out west forget it..... anyway here in the midwest it is not possible to get one installed. Believe me I tried before going with the colgon.

I have encountered a problem. I got a 2-piece bra for a trip, and when I went to install the fender piece, the hooks at the bottom corners were too small to grab the fender edge securely, so I just used the hood piece. I have mailed Colgan some photos and asked for a return authorization because I would like them to install larger bottom corner hooks. Has anyone else had this problem?

That is the exact problem I have but with only one clip at the very bottom on the drivers side. I was going to return it to Colgan but I decided to keep it since I returned one already. The best fix I have found on this is to get some Velcro, ( the rough side) cut it the size of the clip and stick it to the car. It works perfect for me. Just be sure you clean the area of the car real good, alcohol works well.

Don't blame Colgan because they make their bras as they need them. It worked fine for me. Didn't mind waiting a couple weeks for a custom made bra. I also like being able to have the fog light holes stitched up for only 10 buck more. Patience is a virtue

I assume that most dont understand what FYI means. This post was merely to tell others that if they expect to have the bra for an upcoming trip, it wont happen as they take 4-8 weeks to make them.

FYI = FOR YOUR INFORMATION

Update. I had left 4 mesages at Colgan in 3 days, on the 5th day their call came but I missed it, so I called a 5th time and got the machine again. That is when I sent the letter with photos of the hooks. Now after another 8 days, I still have no return authorization. I don't think they are very eager to handle returns.

I ordered my Colgan 2 piece last month. It was delivered in about a week.
I thought the bottom hooks are too small, but I have been quite pleased to see that they hold extremely well. The tension from stretching the bra keeps them in place. I have run the car through a car wash with brushes multiple times and the bar has not let go even once, even when the brushes are reversed.

I do concur on one point though.....their customer service agents are morons.

UM, you are not supposed to run it through the car wash or drive in the rain with the bra on. You might want to check your paint. I got caught in the rain once and ended up getting a cloudy mist under my clearcoat. It took about 2 weeks of sunlight to finally get rid of the haze. Hope it did'nt F' up your paint.

Not a problem. Never has been with any of the bras I have used on my cars, including my old show Camaro. I put several coats of wax on the front before putting on the bra. The bra gets removed once a month for a through cleaning and inspection.

The whole "don't let it get wet" rule is way overblown.
