Default Lip Kit concerns

Has anyone installed a lip kit on there XB by themselves, such as the CF lip kit? If so what was the difficulty like? I just purchased the CF x2 kit and I want to install myself since it will not be painted.

its easy, just pull the front lip off and replace with new one. You might have to drill a hole or 2.

The front and rear are super easy-- like sizzlinscion said, you basically pop the old one off and the new one on. The side skirts are sort of a pain to remove, because there's like a dozen clips on each one, besides the two bolts, and if you're lowered you really need to jack the car up. In general, jacking the car up will make things easier.

i have the bs x2's their super easy, but your lower grill wont fit anymore, atleast mine didnt, i had to sit their with a heat gun, and heat and bend the lip on the top pf the, well the lip, where the lower grill clips onto, and their are no more clips so the grill may pop off even when you bend it to where its supposed to be. just wear thick gloves, and heat the plastic till you see it bow a little, then bend it and hold till it cools, its a painstaing process but its worth it. but if ou go with the carbon, just hope it fits lol

With the x2 lips, it seem to fit the early years alot better.

Another question, Is it ok to spray a clear coat on the lip Carbon Fiber kit to prevent fading?

dupli paint is cheap, no uv protection, not much atleast, a pro sprays grade A (usually) clear, that has uv protection and will give a nice coating of clear, also I'd clear bra it after it was cleared

ya we pros use 2 part clear, that sprays even, thick, and shiny, we can then sand it down and polih it, a pros clear can last 15+ years f you wash and wax your car often, that duplicraple may last 1 year, and is hazy, and blotchy.
