2006 Xb or waiting for 2007 Xb?
Scion showed a proto of a 2.4L t2B vehicle that looked in the same class as a Honda Element, projected for 2008.
Maybe they're not talking about 2007 because "get them while they last, they're not gonna make them anymore" is a good rumor to sell vehicles
The only fact that sort of leans in the direction of the larger xB successor is the 2.4L tC is Scion's most successful vehicle. So, maybe.
I think that's all we know, so drawing conclusions and making purchase decisions based on them doesn't make sense, to me anyway.

Yes, but is it worth the risk if they are true??? I don't really care what the NEXT vehicle is. I got my xB and I'm feeling quite happy with it. If Scion comes out with a real turd to replace the xB, they might get lucky enough that people will still buy it.
The difference in size WILL NOT put it in the same class as the element. They aren't turning it into an SUV, which is what the element is. We're talking about being bigger by a couple of inches and having a bigger engine. That doesn't make it an element - not even close.
BTW, I've just gotten comfirmation by a fourth Scion rep. thats says no 2007 models. If they were coming out don't you think they would have released them alongside the 2007 tc?
On topic with your question - Just buy want you want. If you like the current xB, buy it. You won't be disappointed,

Wow, thank you so much for the great replies!
Definitely I should have come back here earlier!
Well, I did not know that making a new car purchase is so hard. So many choices, so many different offers. But xB seems to be still residing on top of my wishlist.
By the way, I need to rely on car loan for my new car purchase and I am realizing that this is the thing I need to focus on. What will be a good starting point to get a lower APR for my car loan? I am surpirsed to find that even a small amount of APR changes like 1% actually leads to a lot of payment difference in the end.
The Scion dealer in my town (State College, PA) insists saying that they cannot know what APR will be available for me _before_ I finalize my decision to buy an xB. Do I need to visit banks and get competing APR offer in advance in order to make these guys give me some good offer?
Anyway, it was fun to go shopping around and get a test drive. So far I have tried Honda Fit and Nissan Versa & Sentra. Fit was giving me solid feeling overall. The ride is firm and stable, the handling is light but firm. Versa seems to be softer than xB or Fit, but it has a six manual speed option and bigger 1.8L engine. The Sentra ride was good, actually better than Versa and it now comes with $2250 cashback option. The salesman made me a nice offer for around $13500 including tax and title documentation fee. But still xB seems to be dominating. The styling is very unique and it has roomy space inside. The standard option already has ABS, traction control and a lot of extra, which are hard to find from other cars within similar class.

Well, it looks like it's not a good time to get a loan. The Fed rate keeps going up. No wonder why all online bank loans advertise themselves with the APR from somewhere around 6.0%.... Hope the following link help other would-be Scion buyers...
