Default 2007 xb?

I'm sure this has been discussed numerous times on here so lock me up and give me the thread to it if it has, but... i finally convinced my parents to get me one but they want me to wait till AUGUST! I CANT WAIT THAT LONG, my dad thinks that they will drop in price if the 2007 comes out, but i heard that there isnt going to be one. Can someone give me some input cause it could end up in my geting an xb sooner than like 4 months Thanks.

There is NO price drop. All Scions are "pure priced" they do not stray from their price. So go get that xB!!

There was a price increase from 2005 to 2006, then there was another price increase in 2006.5 when steering wheel controls were added. Those increases were each about $120, so an xB now costs at least $250 more than it did in mid-summer 2005.

The fee situation proved even worse. The three dealers here charge $950, $500 and $400 in fees, which I suppose are subject to change at any time. The dealer with the $500 fees said he could not charge the $950 that the other dealer charged, only people were not as willing to drive to his poorer location.

That means they do not discount the vehicle. They are allowed to charge their fees as long as the price is posted.

When the '06 came out there was an incentive program called "Scion Boost" that gave buyers of leftover '05s valuable premiums -- iPods and such -- in lieu of a discount that would have violated the "pure Price" policy.

Whether they'll do that again at the end of '06 is a question, especially if xB's become scarce and there's no '07 to wait for.

In any case, your parents' strategy is questionable, to say the least. More likely, the longer you wait, the harder it will become to get your car at all.

Fees are posted on their websites, under that little link called "About Us". Point is, the variation in the size of the fees from dealer to dealer is bigger than the annual price increases.

People keep saying that there wont be a 2007 model. I don't think thats really the case. I really doubt that they're going to skip a year before the fugly tank version rolls out in '08. What will more likely happen is that they will continue with the same cars manufactured as 2006, but label them as 2007 before shipping them over. If they are labeled '07 before being shipped out, they are legally the '07 even if they were manufactured in '05. This is all speculation, of course...but so is all the other talk on here about the '07 and '08 xB thing.
As far as price goes, I think the other posts in here are right on. You aren't going to find any huge year end price drop on any scion. Hey, it's rumored that if you do wait 'til '08--there'll be more xb to love. he he he.

A pic from an earlier post of mine that was deleted, I think...

You might mention to your Dad, that if for some reason you all decide the xb is a bad purchase, after you bought it....that the re-sale is just as high for a used one as a new one. There arent to many cars that dont drop dramaticaly in value when you drive it off the lot. You can't lose on this. PS.....Its a GREAT car. Incredible value. You will like it.
