Default buzzing sound in the passenger side engine bay

hello
i have a 06 xB and there is a buzzing sound coming out from passenger side engine bay when the ignition is at "ON" position. it sounds like a fuel pump priming, but it's constant and continuous. the mechanic think it's the A/C clutch solenoid noise, but i don't know... and i can't figure out if the sound is still made when the engine is on because the engine noise is too loud to hear the buzz.
is this normal?

yea i noticed the sound after the dealership installed daytime running light, but they only did the wiring set up under steering wheel including installing a relay for the wiring too.
nothing they have done under the hood....
i don't really know if that sound has been there before the daytime running light was installed because i just got my xB three days ago

i've also noticed that my windshield washer isn't working anymore, there is more than half of washer left in the reservoir, but when i turn it on, i don't hear the motor sound i'm supposed to hear. the buzzing sound is coming right about where the washer reservoir is. could it be windshield washer pump problem?
it was working fine before the dealership put the daytime running light on...

could have somehow disconnected something under there on accident, its so crammed that its easy to catch a hose or wire with your sleeve without noticing...

the reason i asked about possible HID lighting is because the HID ballasts make a buzzing sound when they are on and thought that could be it...

I would take it back and tell them about the wiper fluid not being pulled out of the reservoir anymore and i bet you that is probably the issue right there...

Let us know what they find. and congrats on the new purchase

ya it was the windshield washer motor that was making the noise
i took it back to them and they fixed it
the mechanic said something along the line of that he used the wiper module as a power source for the daytime running light or something...
but it's all fixed now.
other than that, the toyota dealership did a very good job despite they haven'te serviced a scion before.
