Yeah, inside the steering wheel with the RF unit, oh wait I have that.

We have discussed this many times. LOL

It's basically a consistent vibration in the wheel...nothing wild or anything that pulls the car in one direction or another, mostly just a consistent vibration that is noticed...
I had that problem with my stock tires and wheels right after I got it - shook like mad starting around 75, got worse around 80-85. I found out the dealer had set the tire pressures to about 23psi. I pumped them up to the recommended 29psi, and although the ride was harsher, I've had it up to 90 with no vibration at all.

Your advice is that there is no good place for a stalk at all. So people should only choose the wireless RF model. Yet even if one prefers the RF over the stalk, what should be made of this advice?
The "RF" Switch can be installed on several vehicles, but is not recommended for every vehicle. http://www.rostra.com/cruise-control.htm
Rostra does not recommend the use of the RF switch for Scion cruise controls.

First of all I have had my RF control for over a year without an issue. I don't care if people choose the stalk or the RF switch, I am sure that both work about the same.

All I've said is that I have the RF switch with no problems and it doesn't get in my way. I am 6'2" and the stalk would have been an issue with me, so I chose the RF.

The allscion.com site says that Rostra doesn't recommend the RF switch, but I can't find anything on the Rostra site that says specifically not to use the RF switch.

I still don't know why it would not be recommended, nor do I really care. I have a ton of mod's done to my car that would not be recommended, but I still have done them.

I just want other people to know that the RF switch has worked for me.

Yours is the exception . Even at 100 or more mine is smoooth and solid. Sometimes it's hard to tell actual speed withoutactually looking at the speedo. Sounds like a wheel imbalance or alignment issue.

I'm 6'3" and the stalk isn't an issue. You just have to adjust it to suit your needs.

As far as the setting itself at a higher speed... Mine is 2.5 years old and I've never had this issue. Sounds like it may need to be adjusted/ re-calibrated. Or the cable may be outta wack or something. Good luck with getting it straightened out!

So I took the car to the shop today and they looked at the wheels...

There was a lot of space and they said that the standard hub rings wouldn't even fill the space so they have to keep the car for a day and do some trial and error with some different kits from American Racing that are designed for this very thing...

So hopefully that will do the trick...

If you were running aftermarket wheels without hubcentric rings that would account for the wheels not feeling balanced. You might want to also have them rebalanced just to make sure. My first set was bought online and weren't balanced right when I first got em.

I have 2 sets of aftermarket wheels (15" and 17") and I don't run hubcentric rings on either set and have no problems. That's just me.

I have 17" aftermarket wheels, and I have never heard of hub centrics sept from a few people on here, and mine run smooth as glass, the roads here suck though

Ditto for me. Cruise is fine unless I see hills. No shake at 80+MPH.

No shimmy or shakes on mine at 80mph+. But I don't have Firestone. Mine came factory with Japanese Goodyear Eagle's.

I like the cruise overall but do agree they could have picked a better location for the unit. Something about a turn signal looking stim hanging out in roughly the area the turn signal switch is at bothers me. I can see the possibility that someone goes to drive the car and grabs that thinking it's a turn signal, then yanking it off the column trying to get the turn signal on.
