All it takes is to read and understand your owners manual. It has much good info that covers that sort of thing.

This post covers most of the scion oil change light reset procedures:

http://oilresetpro.com/how-to-reset-...t-on-scion-tc/

They also have an app that will put this procedure at your finger tips for free the next time you need it. This app is super helpful if you are a technician like me who does oil changes everyday. Nice to have all the vehicle resets available so easily when I need them. Hope this helps someone.

Had that happen to the 06 XB and the reset trick worked with only one snafu... Now the Blue engine cool light no longer comes on. Anyone know how to reset that light to make it work?

I'm confused, but maybe you can clear it up. Your title says maintenance required light, and then you say that your check engine light was what was flashing. They are two different lights, so which was actually flashing? And how many times did it flash?

You do realize you replied to a 17 year old post, right? Something tells me you won't be getting an answer anytime soon.

Maint Req flashes when you are coming up on the oil change interval (Every 5000 miles). It stays on solid when you passed the oil change interval. Do an oil change and reset.
