Default Front License plates

I have seen quite a few posts that recomend asking the dealer to prevent the front plates from being screwed to the bumper. My question is if you manage to succeed in geting your xB with a clean bumper and a license plate in hand, how do you attach it to the front of the car?

Oregon requires front plates by law and I don't really want to drive around with it on my dash.

Thanks for all the great advice guys!

i was given the plates for my xB, and we in maryland are also required to run a front plate. i never got around to putting mine on, as i couldn't bring myself to mutilate the front bumper cover of my first new car, and after 9 months i have yet to be pulled over for lacking a front plate. the first couple months i owned the car, i figured it was just the "what the hell is that box" factor preventing the cops from noticing the lack of a plate, but even since the novelty has worn off i haven't had any trouble.

now i'll probably get pulled over tomorrow...watch...had to say something, didn't I?

I'm in Iowa... my car was "pre-drilled" at the dealership for a license plate. We went back and filled the holes in with epoxy and painted it to cover them as best we could. I've been running without a plate on mine since July. Just got pulled over for the first time last week. He gave me a warning because I pointed out to him that there was no where to mount it.

I'll wait til I get "real" ticket before I do anything about it. Hell, I made it 6 months... maybe I'll go another 6 before anyone else notices

No holes drilled in my bumper. Been running around for 6 months with no front plate and an illegal tint.

No tickets yet. If I get one I'll just pay it and hope I get lucky for a few more months til I get one again.

I wish I had known they were going to drill for the plates.

I've got a cheap dealership frame screwed into my front
bumper, and I fear what it's going to look like underneith.

My box is one year old this month and i've never had mine attached, the way i see it is : next time you are cruising just watch the traffic and see how many 'vettes, benzes ,bmw's etc aren't wearing front plates. texas requires them but i guess thats down the priority list in dallas area.

Got my no front plate ticket last week. $35, but if I fix it they will waive the ticket. No way am I drilling, but I got something in mind that will be really trick!

BTW - I got our dealership to stop drilling xB and tC entirely unless requested to by the customer last October. It's made us very popular but tends to confuse some customers.
