Default Getting an xA or xB soon...

I'm finally going to get a new car after driving my piece of crap 1989 Honda Prelude Si for about a year. Before that, I had a brand new 2003 Toyota Matrix XR for about two years, but I hit some bad ice and totalled. I'm happy to say that I convinced my Sister and Grandma to go with me to check out the Scions. We had to drive about 30 minutes just to get to the nearest dealer.

Anyway, after we found one xA and one xB sitting in the back of the lot, I was excited. Sadly both of them were automatic. Regardless, we talked to one of the sales people about them, and we'll be picking up one within a couple of weeks.

We test drove the automatic Silver Streak xA. I liked it, don't get me wrong, but I was almost more attracted to the xB. My Grandma seemed to heavily dislike it, and my Sister kept telling me it was probably top heavy. I'd like to convince them to let me get the xB, but right now I'm leaning towards the xA. I like it since it doesn't remind me of my Matrix, but smaller. The colors I am thinking about for the xA are Black Sand Pearl (same as my Matrix) and Polar White.

For anyone that has the xA, how is holding up? Good car or not? I liked it a lot, even if it did seem a lot like my Aunt's old Toyota Echo. Hopefully you guys can give me some more reasons to get a Scion.

The xA and xB are both great cars, The only difference is it's styling and overall demeanor (round or boxy? )

In fact, both cars are based on the Echo! The engine and platform is borrowed from the Echo~~ The main difference is it's shorter gearing which makes for a more peppy and high revving engine.

There is a big difference between the auto and manual tranny. Test drive both and see for yourself!

I would test drive a manul, but they didn't have one. When we call them back to order either an xA (most likely) or an xB, we are going to get it in a manual. It seemed peppy even as an automatic, so I can't wait to try out the manual.

Man, I am so happy right now. I just found out that we are even better off with a down payment, so that's awesome. Also I sweet talked my Grandma, thus changing her mind on the xB. I'd say that's what I'll get. I don't really want the xA. It's too much like my old Matrix. Besides, I need the extra room and style the xB will give me.

It'll be great to have a car that no one else in my area does. Thank you!

I'll look into the xB RS 2.0. It's almost perfect timing for me. I kind of don't like yellow all that much, but I love me some rare stuff.

Also, does anyone know if it'll be really hard to get an xB RS 2.0? I'm starting to think that might be my best option. Can any dealership get it for me if I request it? Thanks for the help!

I think you can get put on a waiting list with a down payment?

You should talk to the dealership and ask first hand. I heard someone already either bought one or put a down payment but is waiting for the 2.0 to arrive.
