Good luck getting it fixed right? Could be just the start of your nightmare.
The parents could have easily charged you with assult. Having a cell phone thrown at the car doesn't mean you can beat the p-$$ out of the guy. However being a female who loves her car, I can understand why you did it. The only thing that would make me more angry would be to hurt my daughter.
Take photos of the damage if you haven't allready with a date stamped camera or with a dated newspaper in the photo. You may need proof if it isn't fixed right. My husband works for a body shop owned by Allstate Ins. and they take photos all the time to cover themselves.

you know what i would have done if i was him. Of course he deserved an a$$ whoopin after he threw the phone at your car for no reason. But if you came at me and hitting me like that i would've laughed at you and told you you must be out of your mind for me having to pay for that. Then again, he dereved it. You see but if it were me to begin with i would'nt have been stupid enough to throw anything at your car. So yea your right he better pay for the damages.

Thanx for the tip! I have a camera in my car now that you mention it to me!! lol His parents?! Charge with me assault?! HA! Let me tell you something, I've only known this boy for about 5 or 6 months now and he has gotten his ___ jumped, beaten up inside his basement apt and thrown around school about a dozen times..he's just a jerk to sum it all up.. so he deserves every whooping he gets

I doubt a cell phone would make that large of a dent. Look around and see if you can find a shop that will rub it out instead of using bondo or something like that and repainting. There are several places around here, the South, that do that type of thing. They come out on street corners after a hail storm hits.

yeah cant say i had a cell phone chucked at my car, but after i only had the car for 4 days, i drove my friend over to her friends house, well when she showed up some dude came out trying to be all big, and in the end of the fight, she gets in, and the dude slammed the car door, ok i'm not talkin just slam, this guy put all his effert into swinging this door..... i am SOO glad the window was up, otherwise if it was cracked a little, the window would have shattered, easily....
GOD I HATE PEOPLE WHO FEEL THE NEED TO TRY TO LOOK "HARDCORE" INFRONT OF THEIR "BOYZ"... Matter a fact, i'm pressing charges against one right now for a asualt and battery charge, cuz i didnt "know who he was, and how he rolled".....shoot, i didnt even know the kid or ever see him before..... yeah, these people deserve what they get!
