Default Humming? on idle

Has any one else noticed a sort of humming or buzzing noise when you're idling? This doesn't always happen to me but occasionally when my car is idle (not for long, just sitting at a red light etc) it will make a noise that sounds sort of like a vacuum is running. The other day it started while I was waiting to park and was still going after I parked and turned off the car(it stopped once I took the key out). When I went to turn the car back on the noise started back up even though the engine hadn't started.

I'm stopping in at my dealer in a few days so I was gonna mention it to them but I figured you guys might know what it is or if I should be concerned.

This sounds like either the fuel pump, or, the engine cooling fans. Do you notice the if the noise is coming from the front or rear of the car?

Totally normal. It's the radiator fan (or engine cooling fan) coming on.

It's coming from the front.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. My last car was 10 years old when I got it so I have no idea what an actually new car should be doing : p
