I hate old people - with pics -
I was at lunch with a co-worker a few months back and these 2 old people got into their car and proceeded to back up making no use of their mirrors and would have backed into me if I didn't back up. Then they pulled forward and rear-ended this truck(probably did more damage to their car than his truck), they back up and then proceed to drive off. As slow as they were in the parking lot, once they turned onto the road, they hauled cheeks. A friend of mine has an old beater and anytime someone opens their door and hits his car, he waits until they're gone and repays them 10 fold. WHAM!!! Sometimes I've felt like doing this, but I don't want to hurt my baby.
I travel a lot for work and when I park at the airport, I write down color, make, model, license plate of the cars parked on both sides of me. You never know when the extra time is going to pay off.

Sounds like something I would do....I get a lil tempramental sometimes too, especially about my car.
Last time I went shopping some old folks ran their shopping into the side of my car after they unloaded it. I picked it upand threw in on their car.....ok so maybe I am tempramental...

I'm at the dealership, and I'm waiting on my 22 yo customer to come in and pick up his new BCP xB.
He pulls onto the lot so quickly he plows his Ranger into one of the stucco columns on the front of the store.
Leaves a massive dent in the building, of which my boss is not too thrilled with... I notice the guy is missing his rear sliding glass on the cab. Says he rammed his 4-wheeler into the glass trying to load it in the bed.
Bad drivers come in all ages and drive all sorts of cars... young drivers lack experience, middle-aged drivers have too many distractions, and older drivers lose their reaction skills.
It happens. (You could always wrap your ride in bubble wrap.

I was on my Ducati motorcycle a few years ago when some blue-hair in a land yacht turned left right in front of me, like I wasn't even there. Years of defensive driving had me anticipate this exact thing, but I still laid into her with my dual 130db Fiamm horns and came to a stop in the middle of the intersection. I looked around, and the drivers in the cars were just shaking their heads in disbelief. Well, that was the last straw, so I flipped a u-turn and chased her down as she was turning into a mobile home park. I got right beside her, flipped up my visor, and proceeded to scream at her that 1) she almost hit me, 2) was she blind or something, 3) what's her problem, etc. All she did was sheepishly look up at me and mumble "I'm sorry, I'm sorry...". I told her sorry doesn't cut it, and proceeded to inform her that I have just as much of a right to be on the road as she does, and she violated my right of way, etc. My adrenaline was pumping too much to just let it go. If my ranting and raving at her will make her think twice before turning left in front of another motorcycle, then it was worth it.
Just this Saturday, I was riding my Harley Sportster back to the base when someone turned left right in front of me, heading into the Joint Forces Staff College. I braked in time and threw up my hands in disgust, and saw that the driver basically didn't even look before making his turn, and was yapping on his cellphone. I was tempted to turn right and catch up to him and read him the riot act at the very least, but causing a scene like that at the entrance to a military facility with armed Navy guards probably would not have been a good thing. Next time though, I don't care where I am, if someone does that again, I'm going to make it a point to "educate" that dumbass driver of their violation of my right of way, and take it from there...

I sure hate to see how you are going to react when something really serious happens. Life is too short to have such strong feelings over a vehicle..it just isn't worth it. Do you have grandparents? If so, I'm sure they are old people. All age groups have their poor drivers..lighten up and smell the roses.
This past weekend I saw an old woman back her Buick into a car behind her, which was stopped in the road. I agree all age groups have their fair share of bad drivers, but honestly, elderly people have nothing for reaction time, drive way to slow, and don't pay attention. Anyone who refutes this is either really old, or lying.
I feel you man. I think it was summer of 2000 my buddy had just gotten a brand new Prelude so we were driving around and stop at a liquor store to get some smokes and as we're walking out this 60 year old lady opens the door to her chrysler wide open as far as it would go until it hit my boys car then starts using it as a crutch to get herself out which resulted in 2 more dings. When we asked her wtf she was doing she just smiled and then when we asked if she was gonna pay for the damage she said something along the lines of "you young boys look like you could afford to fix it yourself" and walked off like nothing happened. Got her plate number and insurance actually took care of it with nothing out my my friends pocket I think they got hold of her insurance company and made them pay for it.
It's one thing if it's an accident and a small ding but when people know they did it and act like u have teh problem when u confront them o man do i wish i could walk around and arrest dumbasses for stuff like that

lighten up and smell the roses
way when people are stupid and inconsiderate...it's even harder when you are DEAD
because someone is driving stupid.
Just a couple weeks ago I was hit head on by some moron who thought it was a
good idea to dive headlong across four lanes of traffic to get to his apartment
complex a few seconds earlier rather then wait for the flow of traffic to pass.
He misjudged the distance and his speed, and hit me head on doing at least 45
when I was doing 45 in the opposite direction. If it weren't for the fact that I was
in a SAAB, there is a good chance I'd not have my legs to walk on ever again!
I'd love to get a motorcycle, but if I can't feel safe driving in a car because people
are too wrapped up in their own self centered, blissful "smell the roses" lives, then
I can't imagine getting on a cycle of any kind!
People have to keep in mind, YOU ARE DRIVING A TWO TON BULLET AT
45+ MILES AN HOUR AND ARE AIMED TO KILL ANYONE.
Am I being too serious about this? NO, I think not. No more then if I saw someone
waving a loaded gun while wandering down a highway...it's just about the same
damn thing.
Someone parking stupidly or damaging property in a parking lot ____es me off
in a big way, it's selfish and careless. People driving stupid is a whole other world
of stupid.
I do wish that getting a license were much more difficult, and tests were taken
more often, PLUS in order to get that HUGE SUV that you don't need, or the
***** enlarger sports car that a test be taken to show that you can drive the
vehicle within it's (and your) abilities and skillset.
Sorry, I had to rant. I don't think people take any of this seriously enough.
I'll shut up now.
JeniQ is right, tempramental is one thing but there is an awful lot of hatred displayed here. I don't like my car dinged just as much as the next person. But lets give the old folks a little bit of respect...you'll all be old someday too. I hope the younger peolple then will treat you kind,or will you be hatefull old farts too?
I agree Lonely Raven. (Some) people don't take driving seriously..
Testing should be more frequent and harder.. remember when you were 16 and STUDYING to take your license exam, and you were all jittery when you were doing the road test, knowing any mistake would fail you?
A mistake in a 2-ton bullet going 45mph will likely get you or someone else hurt or worse..
vehicle specific safety classes would be a good idea too.. i can't see them making it mandatory but maybe an insurance incentive would work..

You know what's just as bad? When you park in a spot and there isn't a car parked next to you. But when you come out of wherever you were, some idiot parked so close to you that you can barely get the door open to get in your car! I hate that!
