Just to clear matters up, this old lady wasn't decrepid. She was in her mid-late 60's, looked like a Joan Rivers type. She wasn't THAT old. She was the kind of type that looks down her nose at you in her big Caddy and all. By the way, I am 38 years old, so I am no spring chicken either.

Jethro B,

Thanks for the advice. I did, in fact, file a police report (this was 8 or 9 years ago) and was in touch with my insurance company and the police for a few weeks. They said they visited the addess of the suspec and inspected their vehicle but could find no evidence. The officer said I could persue it if I wanted, but he said the burden of proof would be on me, and it may not be worth it considering the amount damage done and the fact I would miss work, etc. to persue a trail.

old people story...

i was working at a gas station, and i finish pumping gas for these old people (around 70 or 80 i'm guessing, and as soon as i'm done, the guy starts the car, floors it, and smashes right into the side of the building, destroying a service bay.

never figured out what possessed him to do that
and yes, he was in a buick lesabre.

Yeah, my boy did that to a Camaro at In-N-Out Burger last year. Luckily the owner thought it was such a small ding that he wouldn't even take my phone number.
But my son got a swat anyway, just to make it stick in his memory.

Insurance is never going to make the car exactly the same as it was before it was damaged. It's only ORIGINAL once

Yeah, I'm not sure how to handle that situation. I'm thinking about
printing out some of those "thanks for parking so close to my car _______...
did you leave me a can opener so I could get out" cards to leave on cars that
park like that.

If I remember correctly, they had Mickey giving you the finger to get your attention.
I keep a bunch of those for the jerks in my box.

I know I'm dumb but...... Car's are the only possesions that I care about. I know I shouldn't but It's all I have and man , a brand new one , I practically guard it with my life.
Can you still shoot people over property in Texas?

A car is the second biggest investment most people make. It only makes sense to try and protect it so it will have more value when you need to sell it for a new one. Plus I just like to keep things I own as perfect as possible. When at Wal-Mart I always park away from the masses to try and prevent incidental dents and dings. Most of the people who aren't cautious about swinging their doors into yours are also the same people that will drive around the parking lot for 15 minutes looking for a spot that will save them 30 ft more of walking. Park away from them and you'll be almost safe.

A word of warning about windy days and store parking lots. I had two dents in my last truck because the wind blew a buggy into the side of it. Put as much distance between your car and the buggys and as many islands as possible too. I watched a buggy go from one side of a Wal-Mart parking lot to the other one day during high winds. It would have left a nasty dent if it had found a car.

Well I was planning on being buried in my box sitting in the driver's seat with the radio playing "The party's over". I 'll have my headstone covered in solar panels to keep it going.

Then you find out that you really do remain cognizant after death and you're stuck listening to the same thing over and over and over and.....
