I'm looking for a different exhaust....

Coming from another Strup owner I will tell you that you might have more options then you think.
I went route of actually emailing Charlie Wenstrup the owner of Strup and asking about a silencer. A $30 bucks and a week later I had a silencer. A little modification will need to be done, namely that the strup logo will have to be cut off and a hole will have to be drilled into the side of the exhaust tip for the screw. But otherwise the silencer pretty much makes the car go back to the original growl of the OEM exhaust. I only use the Silencer now for long road trips and even then most of the time I just turn up my subs.
then there is the option 2, Sound dampen you trunk. I've got a layer of Dynomat on my trunk floor and hatch. I think it made a fairly big difference. Long road trips weren't as bad.
then there is option 3, only for the completely bored or 'other' personalities. lol I have an air suspension setup in my trunk, which was recently redone with a 'shelf' to hide all my airlines and stuff. Added to the dynomat and my subs I don't even hear my exhaust anymore. . . although I have an issue where if the sub bass isn't vibrating my pants it's not enough bass. . . lol
On the serious side, I feel your pain. I've driven to Conneticut and Boston from Washington DC with my Strup exhaust. It was bareble for the first three hours by the 5 to 7th hours the girl I was seeing at the time and I wanted to kill each other because of the drone. Honestly I say go for the silencer it's cheaper then most options and you get to keep one of the best exhausts out there for the gen 1 xB!
