Glad the RS1s are still out there and still being cared for. There are fewer of them all the time.

Had catastrophic failure today at 350,455 miles. We limped back to my driveway on less than 4 cylinders. It'll fire, but oh so little power. Plates are off and insurance will be cancelled. It never left me stranded - not even today.

I am totally convinced, had I not been an idiot at 247,000 miles (drove it 6 miles without serpentine belt) this car would have made 400,000. That said, I only wanted to obtain 300,000. So I split the difference

I bought my '05 PW in December of '04 and have only 28k on it. Runs like new.
Constantly asked by people how I like it. It's a 5speed manual. Haven't visited this site in a long time. Amazed to see Tomas still here.

28k on it? Wow.

I got MY PW xB in Sept '04. (Man the looks I got on the street back then...very few were on the road around here at that point) Got just over 50K on it now. Still looks brand-frickin new. No mechanical probs yet.

This is the longest I have ever owned any car...going on 8 years this fall. Still love it.

Got mine new 2-15-07. As you can see it was sort of a Valentines gift for the wifey. Had 2 miles on it at the dealer. Has 158,000 now. I've had no problems with it so far. Never seen an engine light. Changed oil not so regularly. Usually around 10-15K miles. At 100k I changed the ATF and tranny filter/trans pan gasket. I plan to change the water pump and maybe the timing chain if I have time. Starting to get worried about those things. I've never added water/coolant to the radiator. I should probably check it after all these years.

Still have the 2004 RS1. About to break 100k miles. I think it has 96 something.

Bought it brand new off the lot with 3 miles on it. It's been paid off for quite a few years now. Car turned 8 years old this past March (I got it March 17, 2004).

Done all the regular stuff myself oil/filter/spark plugs/pcv valve/battery (which finally went last year) and tranny cleaning and brakes I take in to get done.

On it's third set of tires and brakes and the only major issues I have/had were the front door master lock switch I had to replace and now my driver's rear window stopped working. The AC is getting a little weaker too.

Other than that she still rides strong and I'm replacing the stock radio this weekend with a unit that has HD and bluetooth.

Picked up on 2/06 TCM xb, just turned 66,000 miles .Do own service, oil, plugs one brake job (front), replaced the all season tires with separate winter and summer tires and tow a small trailer. Getting between 27 to 34 MPG. Added cruise, poly bushing on sway bar end link and a rear sway bar to make driving more comfortable .

Jenn is pushing 80K and is still going strong with no problems. And lets not forget windshields ... i think combined we are at 9!

Hope you enjoy the Fuyao. Vanilla's Fuyao was a really nice hunk of glass, so I hope they haven't made any changes to it.

BTW, Vanilla just passed 40,000 miles a few weeks ago on the way back from Montana, somewhere in Idaho. I missed taking a picture as I was busily enjoying the mountain twisties.

I still have mine! I bought it brand new. It's the limited edition yellow, 2005! I love it although it's driving me crazy with the repairs I've had to make. First I ended up with a hole in my exhaust where it broke away from the bracket! And now, my horn and alarm don't work lol! Been trying to find a thread about these but nothing so far! Wish me luck!

Check fuses, relay, horns in that order.

Fuses are the the easiest and most likely, relay is a possibility and easy to check by substitution, and the horns have been known to fail for no apparent reason.

Check here for manuals if you need 'em: https://ScionLife.com/Scion_Docs/ ...

OUCH!! yeah you have to circulate the coolent in the engine at least a little. In the old days the fan blade was mounted on the water pump and without the belt it would spin the pump if you were moving fast enough . . . But not with a sideways mounted engine like today!

Drove mine off the lot in spring of 06. I paid it off last spring, looking to finally start modding it. I am at 89K now, only replaced the oil and filter, air filters, brake pads and a exhaust dought nut on the cat.

Oh and some swaybar links
