Default People laughing at my Box??

People laughing at my Box?? Happens all the time, and I get kick out of it, today I pulled up to a light and looked to my left to see a
rusty broken down Ford Aerostar with its hazards on, all the people in the back were pointing and laughing!!!

I thought this was real funny.

Hahahaha! YES Professor, let them all laugh!! We shall see who laughs once our plans come to fruition!!! We will rule them ALL!!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Sorry bro, couldn't resist that one.

Anyway, I don't get a lot of laughs that I notice. Lots of pointing and some curious looks, but I'm kinda big and can be a little angry looking when I'm not thinking about it so maybe that's why there's fewer laughs.

I actually thought a couple of guys on Buells were messin' with me today (I ride too so I usually give these kids the benefit of the doubt), but they were just trying to get a look at my box from all angles. It's a neat feeling.

i just look up at them (if its like a bigger vehicle) rev, and leave. reason... when i look up, i can see them double over in laughter and pain when they hear the "vmmmm vmmmmmm" of the vvt-i 1.5 liter then i can leave without them and their laughter for good . kinda lets them get it out in one short burst instead of the usual follow and laugh

Since you mentioned parking...

I noticed that whenever I pull into a spot in my xA and I think I'm almost to the curb, I get out of the car and check to find my car is still about 2 to 3 feet away from the curb and yet, the back end of my car is a safe position inside the parking spot. It's wierd...

You xB'ers experience this too?

Yea, I cant park the xB near the curb for sh*t, I always end up 3 feet away when pulling in forward or back in.

Oh well..gotta love the small car, I'm still all the way in the spot

Yep, I've seen people laughing at my car.

Mostly people smile and point. Hard to tell if they are amused or approving. Don't really care.

It doesn't happen nearly as much as it did when I first got this thing a year ago though, you have no idea. When you are driving an xB and NO ONE has ever seen one people rubberneck like crazy and every time I'd park it (literally!) someone would come up with a question.

"What kind of car is that?" "Is it electric?" "Is it a hybrid?" etc, etc.

I quickly grew tired of explaining what Scion is, so now I just say "It's a Toyota'

Of all the comments/remarks people have ever said to me 99% were positive. I've only every had two strangers make a negative comment.

One guy outside the Walgreens told me it was ugly and he would never drive one and his ugly wife snickered.
I told him if I wanted to hear from an a$$hole, I'd fart. He glared and then sulked off.

Other guy was some dirty, bearded bum who yelled into my open window "That's the ugliest piece a crap I ever saw!"

I told him to go back to the homeless shelter and get his methadone.

Most people seem to dig it, even if they are too insecure to drive one themselves. But there are Camry's and tC's for those people.

NOTE TO xA OWNERS and Jeep Wrangler owners too.

Our cars are very short. Don't pull all the way to the front of a parking space. Leave the tail end of the car close to the rear of the space, or you will come out of Wal-Mart and find a huge suv slammed into the back of your car because they thought the space on the other side of the Econoline van was empty.

Yikes! Has that actually happened to you?

I live in the land of big SUV *********, so I have a vested interest.

Never seen so many fullsize trucks with 6 inch lifts and 36" tires in MY LIFE as I do in Arizona. I imagine only Texas could be worse. It's really disgusting.

Try Southern Califonia, dude. Way to many yokels around here toting around the lifted trucks. In my neighborhood (going to say about 350 houses)
there are at least 90 homes with HUGE raised trucks, with those extremely loud tires and air horns

90 out of 350 and you think that is a lot. You're funny! I went on vacation in SoCal last spring and we commented the whole week about how "few" trucks and SUVs we saw compared to Memphis, TN.

Tonight I went to the drive through at Burger King and this moron at the window was like "Wow you drive a Mini?" so i replied nicely no, its a Scion
So he said, "It's just as ugly as a Mini" which made me have to ask what he drove and the answer was "uhhhh I don't have a car".

I got my food and said "and I don't work at Burger King". I can take an insult to the car but at least have something better than a bicycle to compare it to.

I've only had a few negative comments. One was from an older guy (i'm 28 so he was around my dad's age) and he asked "what's it going to be when it grow up" I said "I dunno, your mother?" Yes i'm immature and I don't care.

My landlord's mother said it was ugly too but I just shrugged it off since I dont' want to ____ off my landlord's mother.

lol.. sometimes a bunch of dorks in a big lifted bro truck will try and act tough because they thinks it's ___ or whatever, I just smile and laugh because gas prices here in Orange County are going to go up and over 3 bucks a gallon.

Also the fact I spent probably 14k total for my car PLUS all the mods gives me a chuckle to the douche bags who spend 30 grand for a POS Chevy truck or Ford truck.
