Problem with Parking on a Hill and Manual Trans
the weight of the car will be resting on the trasmission only if you set the trasmission to 'park' first, then let go of the foot break before you set the parking brake.
I have an auto and don't care to get involved, but can everyone start to use the word BRAKE when referring to the thing that slows or stops the car, and BREAK when referring to something that fails or a vacation.

You should have some fun with THAT phrase.

Very common repair for women and lazy guys, who like KOJAK, just slap it in park and let the weight of the car rock back and forth on that pin.

Not angry, just vigilant like Judge Judy. I saw a Judge Judy episode where a defendant was sure that she was not at fault because her car was parked when a car bumped it. It broke free rolled down a hill into two other parked cars. The defendant got the analogy of a dead child instead of some damaged cars, none of witch would have happened if the parking brake was engaged. It was a beautiful thing, a $5000 dollar fine and a 15 minute lecture!
is there a way to tighten your parking brake? my driveway isnt on that much of an incline but my car still rolls back unless i pull the ebrake hard, up to the point when i can't pull back any further. usually in my friends cars they can pull the the brake 3-4 clicks and it will hold. on my tc i have to pull it back about 6 clicks and it feels like something is about to snap. i hope there is some way to make it tighter
