Default Question about financing approval for scion

ok, so i went down to a scion dealership and applied for some financing for an xB, i got a call today from my sales rep and he said that i can get financed for the xB just as long as i put up a 2500 down payment, now i can come up with the money but not for at least about 2 months :? my question is, as i havent been given a chance to call my dealer back yet because im at work right now is, how long will my offer to be financed last?

i had problems getting financed for mine...all i had was a trade in... .(84 corolla with 74k miles) i waited 2hrs to get approved. they said no everytime.....now this happened when i was visiting family outside of philly and my car broke down (transmission selector was going) so i drove my POS back up to scranton (2hr drive) so i went to my back and applied for a personal loan and i needed to call the dealer to get some info on the car...he seemed surprised that was getting a personal loan (even though I knew i wouldn't get it....i dont have any credit at all) but the salesrep sounded nervous....and when i came home there were three messages on my answering machine telling me that i could get the car and whatnot...that i didn't need any money down.....so i drove back down to philly and picked her up. still im paying out my ___ for the monthly payments (368 a month) i was determined to get an xb.

I was told 30 days. I just hope my xB gets here before that (21 days left), because they said they'd have to re-evaluate my trade after 30 days, too.

Toyota/Scion financing SUCKS. Try a local credit union, etc. You'll get better rates/options.

Also, if you cannot afford that kind of down payment, maybe you should be evaluating whether or not you need to be buying a new car, because it's obviously already out of your means if you can't put down a decent down payment.

When I bought my xB they were preapring to run my financing with no down payment at all until I mentioned we were putting one down. They were fine with it. What ____ed me off was that I got my degree last year so I was expecting the $400 rebate but somewhere in the fine print it was contingent upon perfect credit. I had checked my credit scores and they were all well over 700 but I got there and was told credit is weighed different with an auto loan. 3 late payments in my and my wife's credit history and with an auto loan they bumped down at least 50 points on each of my 3 scores with dropped me to the 2nd tier of credit and no $400.00. But I went through my bank and he quoted one rate and I told him Toyota had a better rate and he dropped to be Toyota's.
If you can check a couple of different places and play them against one another. A bank with probably deal, I doubt Toyota will b/c they are selling the car either way. Sometimes if your credit is not great they really push for a down payment.

i have evaluated myself and current postion about buying a new car and have come upon the dicision that it is a good idea, all ive ever owned were pre-ownded cars with problem after problem and personally im sick of the unreliability, i want a car that i know is going to be warrentied and a car i know will be reliebale, the xb is an inexpensive answer, the cost and the style along with the standard items is a steal in my eyes, i have no problem affording the cars payments right now even if i were to put no money down, im just not what you would call a "saver" however like a said i can come up with the money, just not over night
