RS2.0-Insect Magnet
Has anybody noticed the amount of insects that are attracted to the color yellow?
After washing mine down this afternoon I thought I was living in the tropics.
Every flying insect known to man is in love with my box.

My biggest pet peve is having a buggy windshield!!...I clean my windshield at least twice a day! I keep a rag and window cleaner in the back seat when the time comes to clean the huge splats off!
In Oregon we have little bugs called "miggies" that the state released to keep mesquitos down. Well the mesquitos are gone, but we have millions of the miggies every where thier is pooling water!
If I drive across town on the highway, when i get back I have to rinse my car off! no joke!

For use with beneficial insects as an indicator of potential pest problems. Recommended for trapping insects that are attracted to the color yellow. Some insects attracted to this color yellow are Flying Aphids, Fungus Gnats, Whiteflies, Leafminers, and Carrot Rust Flies. The Stiky Cards are bright yellow plastic sheets, coated on two sides with a specially formulated sticky goo. Peel off the protective covering, hang them or stake them in place, and they'll catch insects until they are covered.
Apparently there is a product of sticky yellow cards that attract "harmful" to garden insects. That seriously blows...

San Diego doesn't have many bugs fortunately. Only two, really. Every spring we get a lot of butterflys but year round we have VWs. Haven't had too much trouble with the later...
If stares were bugs I'd be washing my car constantly!

its true......even without the car---if you're wearing yellow, youre percentage of getting stung by a bee is higher than if you wore other colors. funny though, cause arent a lot of bugs color blind? iono *shrugs*

I don't think it's just for the yellow boxes... I've decimated generations of bugs in the almost 50,000 miles I've driven in just under two years.
Them's the joys of a big steep rectangular windshield on an un-aerodynamic car.
I'm also almost on windshield #3... two big rock bruises are just waiting to make me replace this windshield.
But I still wouldn't trade the car away.....
