HOLY COW..


I just took the tape off my passenger side doors and holy crap...4 hours to do one side, with blow dryers and AZ sun helping...


I was wondering if anyone had any of this tape laying around so I can send it to NASA so they can keep the tiles held onto the space shuttle

What tape are you referring to and why did you remove it?

 

He is talking about the tape around the window frame. If you look at it, the door and car are one color, then the window frame is black. That black part is just tape. Underneath it is the paint that matches the car.

 

dang 4 hrs? i thought it took less than that.

 

wow. 4 hours is long. how come people claim they did it within two for both sides? (you live in arizona too. i'm expecting it to be warmer.)

 

here's a tip...

BE VERRY CAREFUL!!!! Get a razor blade and genlty slide it across the top of the door where the tape bends over to the back side of the door. this will give you a edge to pull on, and with the help of some heat and gravity, it should pull off fairly easy.

Guess I'm lucky to have a black car. Tape stays on since I didn't even know it was there.

do any of you have a pic where this is done to a RS2, I would like to know what it looks like with the carbon fiber still attached.

Just finished both doors, my thumbs are numb and i cant type very good. but the car looks good!

 

has anybody done this to the PW box? my g/f wants hers taken off or the white carbon fiber door pillars.

 

It's a unique mod, giving the xB a whole different look. For me, I'll stick with the dark tape, I like the look of the solid dark windows.

However, I would love to see more pics of the mod, so I can make a more informed decision...
