Default For those of you who have the hatch rattle

I just fixed mine in less than five minutes flat. Note you'll need a T40 Star head to loosen the two screws (bolts?) that hold the striker....just a quick heads-up, I am so releived, with no more noises coming out the back.

The only time mine rattles is when the hatch is not properly closed. Opening it up and shutting it again with a little bit more force to overcome the fact that this car is very airtight and must compress the air and the rubber seals. I think relieving any tension on the seals may invite a carbon monoxide leak into the cabin.

Default Tc Trunk rattles..........I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!

I have had my tc for about a month now and from day one I had a rattle coming from the right rear corner of my hatch. My friend went back there when I was driving and he said it was because the whole hatch was bouncing up and down. It seemed like when he pushed it up a little bit it stopped. It also seems like the harder I close it the more it rattles. It sounded like one of those shock towers was either loose or it was banging on something. Anyways, I took it in to the dealership and they took a look at it. It took about an hour and a half . They drove it about 3 miles and determined that it was the shock tower mount. They "fixed" it by tightening the shock tower bolts. The dealership said it was loose and they said they turned the bolts like 3 times! I drove away with no rattles. When I opened the hatch and closed it again, the rattle started again. Im not sure what to do now. I don't know where it is coming from, the shock mount or the latch. I was thinking of trying to adjust the metal bumper on the side of the hatch down to push up harder on the hatch. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine has been doing the same thing. It has the TRD lowering springs that we had added after the test drive. The noise wasn't there when we drove it stock. This weekend I had was looking around while having someone bounce on the rear and I think the sound is coming from the springs. If I touch the spring I can feel it bump at the same time as the noise. It looks like the coils on the bottom of the spring are making the noise bumping each other or something else. Do you have the lowering springs on yours? I haven't taken it to te dealer until I can locate it myself.
