Sorry about your box man. Too bad it was a lava also. Atleast you got the badge so you could recreate one if you wanted and no one would know.
Please don't be tempted into an xBII. They may drive better but that isn't always a good trade off. From the rear they look like everyother SUV or minivan on the road.

Agreed! I'm looking around for a 3.0 or 4.0 now, trying to find something with a clean Carfax, no body work, low miles, etc, at a reasonable price. Most seem to be above MSRP right now, which seems silly to me!

...

What did it SOUND like, btw? o.o
Actually only the passenger's side hubcaps became projecties (I laughed at that too). The driver's side just fell off as they lifted the car back on to the wheels.

The sounds were... interesting, I guess. I had had the CD player going, so a moment before the accident I heard the usual highway driving "hum" I suppose you would say, with the sound of the other cars around me. Going through it in my mind though, I remember it reminding me of a movie soundtrack. Specifically, I remember the sound of my car accelerating (like an orchestra building up to a big event), then a muted "crunch" as the Grand Am tagged me and I went sideways, but then everything seemed completely silent for a second as the car seemed to go airborn, except for the "aww crap" going through my head. Everything after that was just like you would expect. If you've ever hit something with your car or just know that noise of crumpling metal, like someone flexing a pop can (often accompanied by that knot of dread in your stomach and that "oh ____" going through your head), then you know the sound. It was just like that, but 4 or 5 times in a row.

Just for anyone that was curious, I found my new xB 4.0 in Sherman, Texas. Just have to bring it home!

I also want to thank everyone who responded with their sympathy, it really meant a lot to me. Even though you don't know me personally, and I rarely posted, you guys still came out with nice things to say. I think that's part of what makes being an xB owner so great, and why I just had to get another one. Cheers!

Actually, I found one, in North Dakota of all places. I had a hard time because I wanted to get a new one, and a manual, and wanted it to be close enough to drive back home.

Scorched Penny? Hell yes! The dealer parked one of those in the spot where mine was the week after I bought mine. I wanted to scream when I saw that color, so unique and I love the color shifting.

that's only at 55mph? here in SoCal, speed limit on most major freeways are 65mph and most people usually drive 80+ mph in the 2nd lane from the right.
