Is the xB's Uniqueness Fading?
My parents live up the white mountains of arizona near Show Low. The population where they live is about 5000 people. Almost everyone drives big trucks or small cars. I parked at the Bashas' in town and layed it out, when I had bags on it. When i came back outside, there were about 6 gomers walking around it sayin, "this damn car is on the ground, how does it drive? The glass says it is made by Toyota, but what the hell is it?" I explained what it was and they were amazed by the interior and the overall looks of the car. I actually had someone ask if I was going to lift it for the snow and such. Anyway, in smaller areas they aren't as common, most people have never even heard of scion or seen the commercials, but that's why you need to change stuff up a bit. I've already changed my taillights a few times by now.
I didn't buy it to turn heads. I bought it cause it was looked so different and akward. I had to have it. I was tired of my me-too Civic and wanted something else. I fear in a few years I'll have to do it again...
I just got mine a few weeks ago, but i get questions from family, friends, coworkers. I see a couple a day here in DFW, TX. but, then, they stand out more. if i try to look for, say, a hyndai tiburon or something, i see several of them in a day too, but i wouldn't notice if i weren't looking. The box kinda forces you to notice it.
this is a good thing, because people will percieve a saturation before there actually is a high volume glut.

In a way its good that the box is no longer turning heads. Automotive companies will look at the xB and think to themselves "since the xB is acceptable in America perhaps we can take risks and stop with all the boring designs".

Geeze...Stop staring at me. If you bought the car for its economy, price, roomyness and fun to drive characteristics you wouln't care. Who cares? My other vehicle sucks gas and the xB is great around this traffic jam of a city. That's another thing, people that live in large cities and complain about the traffic. Move to the deep country.

Anyhow, back to the subject at hand...
In my area there is only one new xA and xB. It took a year for those to show up so I am still loving the exclusiveness
Since I found out that Nissan has no plans of importing the Cube. The hoopla should last at least another year or so.

I know there are alot of xb's in the DFW area but i sometimes go days without seeing another one,I admit it doesn't get the amount of "whats that?' stares it used to but i still get lots of looks. nothing else compares to the look on the road yet.
hell no it hasnt faded!
I still get asked still to this day "is that one of those electric cars?" - this is while i am filling it with gas, at a gas station........
I sit in my xB on my lunch break at work at people still stare and point......

I have a Solar Yellow 2.0 release and I've got it decked out with some of the symbols of my generation, "Yellow Submarine" including having license plates with the word "Submarine" on it. Even though I live in an area where there are plenty of Scions including other xBs (and might I add two other yellow xBs) but the Yellow Submarine theme still gets questions, many thumbs-ups on thehighway and lots of smiles. Between the unusual profile, the bright unique shade of yellow and the Beatles theme througout, it does get much reaction to the tune of 2 - 5 times a day that I notice.
Let's face it kids! The under 30 set can't have all the fun.

Even the smililng faces are Solar Yellow

^ I like the Yellow Submarine theme on your xB. You should do some kind of stripes with the Yellow Submarine at the beginning of the car and have the stripes come from behind it and go all the way to the back.
I still get a lot of looks from young and old. Although strangely enough it's the older people that approach me in the parking lot asking questions. When I open the back hatch they realize how much room is in the box. Modding is a definite way to be unique....with debadged emblems, I love seeing people turning their heads on the highways.
