Default Rock/Chip Guard in front of rear wheels

Hello! Please see attached pic of the clear plastic rock/chip guard. It's looking pretty bad, especially against the white paint. Dealer, of course, of no help at all. I'm thinking I need to remove them but thought I would check in with the Forum first for any and all suggestions. Thank you.

try some cheap vinyl of eBay first. I've been using Vvivid headlight tint recently, but they don't have a clear with air release. You could even replace it with a white, or black might be cool with a different shape. It wouldn't have to be the same shape or even the exactly the same side to side.

It comes off pretty easily with a bit of heat and goo gone or citrus spray to get the remained of the glue off. I pulled mine for the exact reason that it gets dirt trapped along that front edge.

To kidd and Greg: Thanks for your suggestions. I'm probably going to pull them off. I'm not that talented applying vinyl, etc., so I'll leave it bare paint. Thanks.

ps--But if someone comes across some sort of pre-cut product, please let me know.

Default Ugly door protector thingies...

Anyone have a good plan of action to remove/replace these things. Also, what are they called. Cant seem to find replacements. Has anyone taken them off? What's under there?
Contemplating just masking them off and hitting them with some white plasti dip. They are so fuggin' ugly. Why do they crack and mold? I hate them.

Damn, mine never got that bad looking. They can be peeled of with heat and then use Goo Gone to get the rest of the glue off.

Cool, guess I finally have a reason to purchase a heat gun.

I’ve recently replaced mine. Fairly easy job and inexpensive.

SIT, I doubt you will see this given the thread is over a year old, but where did you find replacements? Is there a Scion part number?

I bought them from the Toyota/Scion dealer down the street. I work at Mercedes-Benz of Tampa and know several of the guys in parts. I’ll see if I can dig up the receipts. Any Toyota dealer should be able to help you if you call them with your VIN.

For anyone else who may come along. I followed this YouTube video, using Turtle Wax Label & Sticker remover along with a plastic razor to get mine off. (Other similar products may work as well or better, I don't know as I only used the Turtle Wax Product and have stuck with it)

If your guards are super worn/weathered/moldy you'll risk a higher chance of accidentally peeling up the paint with it. This happened to me and had to use a good amout of touch up paint to fix up one side. YOU ASSUME ALL RISK! : (I'm not liable for 💩!!!) 😅

Here are my before and after pics

That looks real nice. Is that the same car?
I use WD-40 and an old credit card as a scraper. The WD-40 acts a lubricant protecting your finish from scratches and also safely removes the adhesive. I've found heat also helps using a heat gun or a hair dryer. Glad you posted, I've been meaning to get around to this.

WD-40 can too? That probably would've been the cheaper route to go. Thanks for sharing , now I know. Yes, it's the same car.
