Great! Now I'm convinced. I'm very skeptical about paying $70 for such a small attachment for my car. But after the frequent back-to-back talk about paint, I'm convinced it's a fair deal.
Now it's time to convince the girl that a shark fin antenna is next on my list.

thanks. but it's not hard to make it look easy when it is easy. the hardest part was the reach.. I used a step stool to get a better handle on the install, that and MAKE SURE THE FIN IS STRAIGHT!!!!! other than that? it was a breeze. if you get it from www.sharkfinantenna.com let Arthur know that I sent you.

yeah that whole make it straight thing seems like a pita to do. it should come with a paper or cardboard cutout template that hooks onto the back door so you can just place the template, place the sharkfin and bam you're done. any tips or tricks you discovered when you did yours to make it straight?

I placed the Shark Fin over the stock antenna base approximately where it would be stuck on. While it was sitting there, I put one strip of blue painters tape just in front of the shark fin, and one strip of blue painters tape behind the shark fin (each about 6" long). I then used a tape measure to mark the center line of the roof on each piece of tape.
I measured the width of the back of the fin and marked it on the rear piece of tape so that it was centered on the center line I already marked. Now just peel the paper off the 3M adhesive tape on the fin, line up the front & rear with the marks on the tape, and push down for a minute. Peel the blue tape off the roof, and you're done.
Hope that helps, I've done it that way 3 times, and every time it looked great.
