Toyota emblem for 2011 xB
#103
I really like how the deeper-recessed/3D Rumion emblem ties into the '11-'12 emblem "tunnel". It looks classier than even the Toyota emblem against the entirely flat back-plate.
Now, I still wish Scion had continued the cleaner '08-'10 bumpers & grill lines so I could have added a Five Axis kit and vinyling the bumper would follow the grills' body contours
Anyways, there are added efforts to installing the Rumion emblem:
1./ you have to (dremel and sand off) remove the added protusions on the back of the Rumion logo. Be carefull not to flatten off the melted plastic posts' ends from the chrome emblem that extend through the black backing border, else the kinda-"C" might come loose. Sorry I wish I had taken time to take my own WIP pics.
2. I used masking tape and an exacto blade to produce a fairly precise flat profile of the back of the emblem which I transfered to the bumper to dremel cut a minimal opening; a little smaller than kage78's pictured hole
It'll also just let you keep the upper OEM tab recesses intact, should you need to reinstall OEM emblem.
3./ The circumference of the bumper's oval recess has radiused inside edges which doesn't give you full FLAT contact of the Rumion emblem's backing plate's full circumference. I used same tape-made template to fashion a ~3/16"-shorter-radiused oval plate made out of scrap 1/8"-thick ABS plastic (lots of dremeling and filing!) which I then 3M-tape-sandwiched between the emblem and into the bumper recess. But you don't see any depth gap. Hope you can follow the gist. Alternatively, maybe two layers of 3M tape will achieve same...
But the extra work was worth it!

Thanks for your help GDubya. I installed the emblem few weeks ago.
I followed "step 1" but I kept the 2 lower tabs on the emblem because it fits right into the lower OEM tab recess. I did a conservative cut for the opening to keep the upper OEM tab recess also for some reason the emblem that I have has 2 factory holes on the backing plate enough for me to slid a zip tie. Its pretty sturdy without using 3-M tape I didnt have to do step 2 and 3.
