not to nit pick here, but that is exactly the problem. It doesnt 100% coast when i take my foot off the gas, it engine brakes a little. I want to coast without the engine decelerating the car. I can do that in a manual and i cant really do that with an auto.

You could, just pop the stick up a notch from D(rive), and pop it back down when you want back in gear. I did it the other day down a long straight with a slight grade.

i did that once or twice which was how i noticed that the engine was not going to idle when coasting. On the sienna it makes a thud when you get back in gear while coasting. Decided not to do that anymore.

Yeah, our Sienna must have the worst powertrain ever. Between the massive throttle lag and the lazy transmission, not to mention the somewhat anemic 3.3L, its amazing the thing moves. >.<

dont complain till youve driven a toyota 4-runner 4cyl. With almost no power, truck weight and suspension, the sienna we replaced it with felt like a darn sports car in comparison. seriously the 0-60 on the 4runner was in the teen like 14sec or something. The sienna is around 8 which i pretty good.

Ya my friend had a mid-90's 4-Runner... More like 4-Walker... but i liked how splashy the suspension was... made hitting dips fun.

Go look up Marlin Crawler. Those Yotas literally crawwwwwwwl. His demo truck has something like 3 or 4 transfer cases for a final drive ratio of 1024:1 or something insane like that. /threadjack
