I replaced the suba with a resonator, and slapped on a HKS axle back.

Ya, I too replaced my scuba. This past weekend I had my exhaust setup redone with : weapon-r spipe + high flow cat (in place of scuba) + tanabe axle back. Man was it loud - could barely hear radio & was afraid to step on gas haha.

So yesterday I had my mid-pipe redone by adding an 18" resonator and now my box sounds nice & deep.

*note: if you get your exhaust done at a shop, make sure you test out the sound in & out of the car b4 leaving & also double check that the exhaust setup is not rattling.

sounds like the "magic" sucba replacement would be a compact high flow cat directly connected to a small resonator. All in the space of the scuba. Then any axle back system you want. That's what I am going to try. Only reason for the cat is to very and pass smog test .
