Great guess that new manifold may never come.

Well I've played with the tuning got the idle afr and the stalling fixed. I zeroed out some of my o2 map and after trying and compareing some tunes I began to make adjustments in the Ignition and fuel maps. SO far so good a bit too rich though as I get a cel.

As for my manifold I was planing on getting it re-surfaced there is a machine shop up the street. The exhaust leak is not that bad, The Rtv is holding up well I cant feel the leak but you can see a bit of carbon out the bottom left corner. I'll post a vid tomorrow.

3/10/09 ROFL bump! This ____ is funny unless you're one of TT's victims...

My $1200 Ebay CXR turbo kit shipped in 2 days and arrived in 5 days from the other coast. Kit had wrong size DP flange and took another 5 days for a replacement DP that fit perfectly. Entire kit bolted up perfectly except for MAF flange which required some modification. Manifold fit perfectly but I felt it needed some dremel work on the inside runners. The SMIC came with custom mounting brackets that fit perfectly and kit had all necessary hardware (except an air filter) included.

$3000 TT simple kits are hit and miss, if and when you ever get one. The basic $3500 Descendant kit uses the stock airbox and hose clamps instead of t-bolt clamps. Treadstone/Ancla basic kits cost $4000 and no one has been brave enough yet...

I'm so happy I didn't listen to all the advice I got before ordering my "____ty ebay turbo kit".

It seems like you've had to do less work & trouble-shooting than those who waited months for their TT kits...

Toyota should sue them to force them to remove Toyota from their name because it seems to imply that they are backed by Toyota, when it is blatantly obvious from their lack of customer service that they are not.

I'm just thankful that CXR accepted my impulsive low-ball ebay bid because TT was my next choice and I'm very sure that I would have regretted that choice...

Fack some how I managed to get my map to lean out to 15 in boost and idle rich at 13.3-to 14.3. I'm trying to get some logs off my scanner. My last long term fuel trim was at -35 short term all over the place while driving and-6 to -3 at idle.

I seriously considered the Ancla kit but decided it wasn't worth $4000 to me. I probably should have made them an offer but didn't think they'd take $3000. Are you going to try it with just the MAF velocity stack or get EM right away? I'm very curious about how well that VS works. If it doesn't cause a P0101 CEL for the MAF I'll be amazed.

Good luck and congrats.

Did you do the injector size change? You're running 550cc? Your LTFT should be close to zero. FWIW, my LTFT is about -20% with 440cc which strongly indicates to me that our oe injectors are 370cc rather than 320cc as some say. 440cc is 20% larger than 370cc. Good luck.

I feel bad for my self, lol. Hey ScionFred yeah I'm running the 550 injectors with a basemap I tweaked a bit. My LTFT is -34. I'm still playing around with the tune. I've been doing alot of reading on efi101.com and Aem forums. See what happens.

It sounds like your base map was for ~35% smaller injectors. Changing FI size in the fuel map is the easiest way to get your LTFT close to zero. I have my own base maps ready to go but until I test them, I have no idea how good they are. My strategy is to start off with the stock tune, compensated for larger FIs and tune from there. For timing, I just pulled 1 degree per 1psi boost. The O2 and MAF maps look to be a bit trickier to tune.

BTW, I've been speculating that my P0101 is caused by excessive IDC trim (-20%). At -34%, do you get the P0101 code?

Good luck dude!

Hurry up Boomslang!

Yeah I get the code but only when I run my test tune. But my test tune is still pretty good I hold 11.9 to 12.2 under boost. If I could get my part throttle straight would be awsome. I'm good where I'm at I think I can leave the rest to the pros. I can send you my tune If you want to look at it.

Under what conditions do you not get the code? FIC tune with MAF clamped and remapped? FIC bypass? Other?

Glad you got your tune sorted pretty well. I'd appreciate taking a look at your tune. It might just work for me too after correcting for my smaller injectors. I think my email addy is in my profile.

Word I got is that the ecu connectors can not be obtained from the manufacturer now or ever. Boomslang and others take ECU connectors from wrecked XB's and re loom to a AEM harness. So if you come across a wrecked XB pull the ECU connectors and contact Boomslang about re looming for your EMS of choice.

Good deal! I would have bought it for that price too. I hope it works out well with the VS and injectors. I sure wish I knew how that is even possible but if it works, it works. I would expect the ECU to at least throw a P0101(MAF range) and/or P0172(rich) code because of the larger injectors/VS and the VS should cause a P0103(MAF signal too high). If Ancla managed to tune the ECU to accept bigger injectors, good AFRs and no CELs with only a VS on the MAF, God bless them! That's flippin' impressive.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing about your results and seeing lots of pics! Congrats and good luck!

I get the Maf code during part throttle I think. Also the rich code. Boost comes on good but during part throttle driving when I tap the gas for sec I go rich 10.9 then goes back to 14.9 to 13.9. I go on vacation this weekend so when I get back Im gonna try Verocious motorsports in Delaware for a tune.

Thanks. It seems like the only way I'll get rid of the P0101 is to clamp and remap the MAF with a FIC. I could try the oe injectors but they're only good for ~200bhp.

I hope you have a great vacation and a great tune.

Quick update, just got a text from Todd yesterday with a tracking number for the parts I was missing. should be the same manifold and wastegate from the setup he posted a while back. Will be upgrading with 3"dp and full exhuast if everything is complete.
