Default Unichip PnP engine management

I just learned that Unichip now has a PnP piggyback for the 08-10 XB. It comes with a base map tuned for your bolt-ons but I'm pretty sure it would need a custom tune for turbo apps. Therein lies a problem for would-be tuners. The PnP Unichip is only $525 but the tuning software costs $950. It still might be a good option for someone with a Unichip tuner nearby who doesn't want to do any tuning himself. From what I can gather, the Unichip is at least as good as the FIC, much better than the e-manage blue or Apexi Neo and probably equivalent to the Ultimate.

AEM FIC = $350
PnP harness = $500

PnP Unichip = $525

I think I'll go with the FIC instead. I want to try tuning it myself and that's not an option with Unichip. The Unichip does look like a good alternative for someone who doesn't want to tinker with their tune.
