damn. you beat me to it. I just ordered mine tonight. gonna mount this in there: Kenwood KFC-WS12 http://outlet.crutchfield.com/p_113K...S12.html?cc=02
I just spent an hour trying to remember where I saw this sub enclosure posted.. lol FOUND IT!!!

I run Wicked Automotive Kustoms. I will be using this enclosure as a template for my own design. hopefully one that doesn't need mounting tape or screws. PLUS you will be able to lift the cargo floor up without having to remove the box.
I will also be fabing one for the Driver's side for and amp. ;-) This might take me some time cause I've never done fiberglassing before, but when it's done? you
gonna wanna slap yo mama to get one. ;-)

Sounds amazing... I was a bit nervous at first but I have a 10" JL Audio 10W0-8 powered by 2 (bridged) channels of a 4-channel Pioneer GM-D9500 amp and it sounds amazing... I put some fiberglass insulation in the box which makes it sound even better... You can read up on why that works online but it's definitely worth it.

That being said, I'm not 16 anymore so I'm not looking to shake the entire neighborhood but if you're looking for nice clean and sharp bass, this is a great box...

I got the box in. I added to it to make it my own. Did some body work. The sound is really nice. I went with a shallow mount sub and everytime I make a right hand turn the box falls over... I gotta figure out a way to anchor it. I bet if I had gone with a standard sub the weight would be back far enough to hold it in place.

First layer of filler:

Shot of what I am doing:
Molded a SCION emblem INTO the top of the box.

notice the outside edge.......

Almost done:

more test fitting:

WITH SUB!!!!!

Next step is to get it painted and carpet the back side.

And just for fun I sprayed the inside with PlastiDip. a spray on plastic coat. it helped a little with sound escaping the back of the box and rattling the back panel of the car.

Man the tipping over part was exactly what I was afraid of. I emailed them about that and never received a reply about anchoring the enclosure. Maybe some industrial strength velco might work?

That's what I'm gonna try after I get it painted and the back carpeted.

I might also try molding into the bottom a weight that will drop down into that cubby in the floor.

They just added a picture for the driver side subwoofer. Looks pretty nice.

It's really easy to make your own box in fiberglass.

Any updates A-Snell as to how you went about keeping the enclosure from flying around?
