Ok so I finally got around to building my box and installing my amp. Nothing special but its better than nothing. So here goes..
AVIC-F700BT w/ipod cable
Alpine MRP-850
Rockford Fosgate 1 Farad Cap
Alpine Type-R 12" Front
Back of box
I need to do some work on the box I'm not really happy with how it sounds, low frequencies are rediculous but the mids are lacking, I will probably mess with it in a few more weeks when I have some time.

alpine type-r 12" dvc wired to 2 ohms on a mrp-m850, ya the box was 7 inches too wide, i messed up somewhere in my calculations. i put a filler piece inside today to bring it down to about 1.6cu ft. for some reason i built it to 2.2cu ft. but it sounds killer now. if i had more carpet i would take it apart and cut it down. this is just a temporary build until i have the money to build up how i want it.
the whole setup is just stuff i had laying around and i had extra mdf leftover from the entertainment center i built for my parents new home theater system i set them up with.

do you guys lose your spare tire to make room for the box? the false floor box is what im going to do, i have two thin 10s i want to utilize with my amp but am not sure how im going to fit it all in there with the spare. Taking the spare out scares me but i've ran without a spare before.

For the false floor one you would loose the spare. There is one member on here that build his own false floor and still kept the spare, but you have to have tools and the know how to do it.

I built my system into a false floor too and yes, you will lose the spare. However, you mentioned you had low profile 10"s which may be able to fit over the spare tire but would probably require raising the false floor up higher than the regular trunk floor. But as dspeedy69 advised, it'll definitely take the proper tools, materials, and know-how.
As for the spare, I just keep mine in the garage and in the unlikely scenario that I get a flat, I'll just have my wife bring it to me.

If you have the fabrication skills you can fit most shallow 10s under the front seats. Passenger side is pretty easy, driver side you have to relocate the yaw sensor to fit a box.

right on. I probably get get over having the spare. I really want to build the false floor for my subs and i still want to be able to use my cargo space so i need to start drawing up some stuff.

My underhood setup. Was going for clean, stealthy, factory look. The 4 gauge wire is loomed in black so it looks factory. The fuse holder was shot in matte black for a factory look. I notched the factory positive battery terminal cover for the power lead. All in all, I'm happy for my first install.
