When doing the doors and hatch, should I worry about working the material inside the door and hatch frames and putting the dynamat on the interior side of the exterior sheetmatal or do you think that it is enough to just fully cover the door and hatch frames themselves?

Happy Birthday Al_Fredo!

JMHO, but I would definitely do the inside of the outer skins of the doors and hatch, do the interior panels (frames) too. Then tap the exterior from the outside. It will sound like you are hitting a plastic panel!

yep, definitely want to get mat applied to the inside of the outer door skin, hard to do on the front doors though.... you will have to cut the mat into little pieces and work your hands in there.... my front doors are well done and I get great sound from them and no resonance....

BTW- I know dynamat extreme is thick, but I don't think 100sqft is going to cut it..... just the floor and front doors I used 120sqft of raamat... I like it because it is easy to work with, but one reason it is easier is that it is thinner, but I am not sure 100sqft will be enough

Well it doesn't look like the headliner is going to come down today. After doing all 4 doors and the hatch it looks like I should just have enough for the floor left. I did do both the door skins and frames and you guys were right it does sound very solid when you knock on the door panels. Thanks for all the good input and advice. Also, does anyone know what those beige cloth looking pads are that are placed periodically around the inside of the body panels???

That was a weak attempt by Scion to quiet things down a bit, just slap your mat over em.
