Default Quick question on upgrade HU about the sub RCA output

I went and RTFM, but it was... less than helpful. I also searched the forum to the best of my ability.

Is the RCA subwoofer output on the back of the head unit low-pass or full range? The manual did say that it was mono, but not much else.

I just bought online a Pioneer GT-3300T amp and a Pioneer 8" shallow mount sub to go into my new RocktheBeef ™ custom underseat enclosure. I'm kinda wanting to know what settings to use before I do the install.

Thanks!

The amp will probably have a Xover on it, use that.

Oh, it does. It's 80 hz. But it's not adjustable. I like options!

I have the upgraded HU too. Not sure if it's Full Range or Low Passive but all you need to do is plug in the RCA's and use the crossover on the Amp. That's what I did with all 3 RCA outs. There's nothing to adjust on the HU except for enabling the Sub. There's also a sound shaper feature where you select if the car is a xB, tC or xA. Hope this helps!

I have the Memphis MCD500 driving (2) 10" Memphis Sub's and Rockford Fosgate Punch P450.4 driving (2) 6 1/2 two way Infinity Kappa 62.7i's for the rear doors and (2) component Infinty Kappa 60.7cs for front doors. Nice! System hits hard and super clear.

If you have the Standard HU, it DOES NOT have RCA pre-outputs.
Only the Premium Scion HU does.
Even the Scion NAV Unit DOES NOT have RCA pre=outs.....
, but to answer you question. ..
IF, you had the premium or ANY aftermarket HU WITH RCA pre-outs, then
YES, it will sound much much better running your subs thu the RCA's rather than 'line out (speaker wire) converters)... jh

i remember on the alpine HU that i had this thing hooked up to before, in the sound menu it allowed me to turn up the bass level on the sub alone...and then overall bass and treb for the other speakers...is there something like this on the premium unit?

Yes, the premium HU has a separate output level control for the sub.
