Default sw out not working

Ok first off, I just put a small system in my 2009 Xb. The head unit is the Premium Pioneer with pre-outs. Now for the problem: when I hooked up the RCA cables to the SW pre-out I get nothing. I know you have to turn on the SW in the Audio settings but it says "not available". I switched it to the rear output and guess what notta. So I have it hooked up to the front and it sounds ok, but I would really like to have it hooked up right. Is there something I am missing or do you think the rear and sw outputs are just bad? Also if they are shot will scion/toyota fix this now that I have hooked a sub up to it?

P.S. I did a search and all I can find is people asking if the Premium has pre outs and I know the answer to that ha ha ha ha....

Thanks Cliffz1

I wish Scion would have put this in the manual, seems like the only way for anyone to know is if they come to scionlife.com and see it here.
