well.. i see scion listened to many people when they said that the rumion looked way better than the xb in america. they did what they could to make it as close to the rumion as they could without just rebadging the rumion as the Scion xB. if you compare it to the Rumion side by side.. you can honestly see many resemblances. who knows.. maybe the next upgrade will be the Rumion.
i honestly think that this car is pretty nice looking. its very close to the japanese counterpart. and if i hadn't already done my conversion i would've probably traded in my 08 for this. even the armrest is taken from the new Rumion upgrade. which i am VERY interested in...
Scion will never be able to please ALL of you guys.. and you can honestly say they listened and did what they could to make it to your likings. and they did one hell of a job imo

well yes the Rumion looks a little better, but seems that most of you are forgetting that it really is the front kit that makes this car any different, all you would need to do, is somehow get your hands on the front kit from japan, and change it over!
Once the car comes out, im pretty sure they will make copy kits, anyone have friends in japan?
PS: that red colour is only for Japan.

NOTE: the Jap spec comes in the option of 4WD or 2WD FF, with engine size 1.8 or 1.5.

The new stereo and instrument layout is nice. I like the USB input a lot!! I like the new center column...it is the same height as the elbow rest on the other one, so it works the same, but with more storage...you slide it forward to use it as a elbow rest, and back to open it up for the internal USB connection.
I like the clock. The temperature gauge is now just a light that comes on if it starts to overheat green (on start) / orange / red, which if you think about how human minds actually work is way better. If you have gauge on all the time, your mind will have a lower probability of registering that the engine overheats.
Anyhow, my point is that the changes in design is so minor it is not worth going crazy over.
Note: I really do not care so much about how the car looks. If you compare it to the other box cars this one rocks both in standard equipment / price level and what it can fit. I did a lot of comparison shopping before committing in 2008, for the 2011 I didn't look at any other car simply because I've been happy. It can fit my 9'6'' and smaller Surfboards inside, I can bring almost any amount of kiteboarding gear. In my 2008 we were 4 people, one full windsurf rig, 5 kiteboards, and 8 kites in addition to clothing and food with no problem going up to the North Shore. The layout of the car is super good and makes it more flexible.

Saw one of these in person Sunday.. gotta say I really like these, brings the Boxy back to the xB name. I drive a first Gen and my wife drives the current 2nd gen. I like the 2011 better than hers. has more personality and I must say it sure would be nice to have real reverse lights... the one reverse light has caused more near misses backing out of parking spots than I care to talk about...
