You do realize toyota does not make brake pads? Much of what is built into any new car are sourced from outside suppliers.. Keep microwaving your brains w/ that wireless crepe. That should end well.

Hi and happy upcoming holidays to all! I am at 9.5 years of ownership and at ~63,500 miles. From my last check in in April, 7 months ago, I've put less than 4k miles on the car.

Still purring like a dream. Had the TPMS light blink the other night so I have to go put air in the tires at some point.

Other than that, still going strong here. I have an oil change due in 2k more miles which I will likely get to in the spring time.

Cheers for now all.

Hey Midtown!

I am at just over a year owning my RS10. Great little car, quite the upgrade from my ‘06 PW Gen1. Bought with 99k on the clock and am at around 113k now.

Been messing with the stereo lately. Moved a bunch of the ‘06 hardware in. Stayed with the OEM h/u for the camera, h/u controlled iPod/iPhone hardwired interface and B/T phone+music integration.

Happy Turkey Day to all!

hi fam! at 65k miles as of this morning after 10 years of ownership!

The battery I installed a couple of years back at the dealer died on me the other day bc I left my headlights on for 2 hours by accident. I can't believe the stock battery survived for like 8 years and the replacement only lasted 2! garbage from the dealer!

so I went to Costco and got one installed. they did not have the premium battery in stock ($174) so I wound up getting the regular one for $104.

other than that, car purrs like a kitty on the highway and have had no other issues.

hope you guys are all well!

As of July 2023, I'm at 10.5 years of ownership and at 67,000 miles.

Based on one of my earlier messages above, it looks like I've put on about 7k miles in the last 14 months and 11k miles in the last 24 months. so sub 500 miles a month. I will hit 100k miles in about 66 months or January 2029 lol. by that time, the car will be 19 years old. Posting this to hopefully revisit this thread at that time! hah

I feel like this thing is finally broken in. It purrs like a kitten at 60-65 on the highway and having it on cruise control is music to my ears. No major issues so far but the rear passenger door actuator sometimes doesnt work. will likely order a new one for $6 on ebay and replace it in my garage like i did the first one a few years back (pics and details are on this thread somewhere). piece of cake fix.

Only other issue is that the paint is peeling off the rear part of the roof / top of the tailgate there are some 5" circles where the paint is missing / has been peeled off. Likely my last visit to the car wash made this problem bigger.

had a random thought the other day to add front + rear sway bars to the car now that i've had it over 10.5 years lol. maybe it'll just be a waste of money at this point...? reason to install is that my area is super curvy and it would be nice to hit some turns at higher speeds....

hope everyone is doing well and had a safe and happy 4th of july!!

My blue SCION light stop working that use to come on and fade away above the glove box on my 2013 xB release 10th anniversary model. Does anyone know how it works or is controlled.

hey GML, that stinks! are you able to take apart the area that has that light? If it's just the LED, that might be a bit involved. separately, you can call your local toyota dealer to just ask what they think the issue is and to get a ballpark on a fix...?

As of March 2024, I'm at 11 years of ownership and at 71,000 miles.

Car has continued to be a dream to drive. Had my mechanic fix an annoying valve cover gasket leak and then I got new tires at Costco at the end of February. I had not realized it had been 7 years since my last set of tires! I put 48k miles on them in 7 years.

I wound up getting Michelin CrossClimate2 tires for approx. $870 total, without alignment. I just now have to find a place to get the alignment done. (edit: got the alignment done a week after i got the new tires i put on, cost was $125 and found no issues during the alignment.)

Paint roof peeling is getting much worse. Theres about a 3 foot long by 1 foot wide area now where the paint is chipping. Although I bought my car brand new at the dealer, I never got a single notification about the paint recall. I am taking pictures and sending it to Toyota to see if they can cover it.
