Default 2015 Scion xB fuel capacity

So the first 2 tanks i've filled up were with a remaining 9-25 miles. With that said, every time i've filled up, it's stopped at 10 gallons. This is odd since the manual reads approx. 14 gallons capacity.

The reason i question it is because my mini has approx. the same size tank and I have filled anywhere from 13-14 gallons of gas.

Mine is the same, almost every time 10 gallons. I don't like to push my luck so I don't wait until it gets to "E", but there's still 4 gallons left in the tank.

That doesn't make any sense though. I've pushed my mini to 0 miles left on the meter and can fill it to almost 14 gallons. 9-26 miles left shouldn't equate to 4 gallons of gas. I mean even at it's worst, that should be like 68 miles left at 17mpg.

Default Sorry

I misread your post. I don't use the range indicator to determine how many miles that I have left in the tank, i was just referring to the fuel gauge. I'm not sure how accurate that range indicator is.

I think those range indicators (on any cars) are super misleading. because they change based on your driving style (you could drive it like a grandma one day, and then drive it like fast and furious style the next day), it would not be accurate.

i feel like the only time i would rely on those (and i use RELY loosely) is if i was on a hella long road trip and had the cruise control set at 60 or 65. this scenario would give you whatever value for MPG or miles remaining and it would be semi accurate or the closest to accurate as you would get.

The dist to 0 gauge is going to play in favor of you NOT running out of gas...that said, Toyota's DT0 gauges seem to REALLY play it safe....

The most I've ever been able to squeeze in is 11.364 gallons, and that is when the range indicator turned off after displaying 5 miles to go.

Toyota tanks all foam up pretty good. If your just waiting until the auto shutoff on the pump you will never get more than 10.5-11gal. Have to dribble it in to fill to the brim.
