2nd Replacement Windshield
Every State has different insurance regulations you know?[/quote]
Yes I am well aware of this, however your Comprehensive coverage covers incidents such as: Vandalism, Falling/Flying objects, Weather related incidents, Glass damage not resulting from a Collision, Animal related accidents (even if you hit an animal) Partial thefts, Stolen vehicles, etc... the list goes on.
The insurance regulations mainly are set in place as a means to control what kind of coverage you must carry in each state.

just wondering --
you know how they have rock blockers for head lights? and they have like 3M adhesive stuff that you can apply to your doors to minimize paint damage, etc...
can't you apply the same thing to a windshield? from what i've seen they're "thick" pieces of transparent plastic - like a plastic sticker - that goes on your doors and the same material is used for headlights.
why not just use this for windshields too? i know for a fact this isn't going to solve the problem 100% but i am sure it would protect against windshield pits, etc.
just a thought.

It has like a 6 or 7 inch diameter
Next time go after the truck and get any info you can off it. Make the company pay for it. its the drivers job to make sure nothing falls of his truck. That sucks, My crack was not even close to that size.
My 08 Blackberry Crush has a crack. It starts in the rubber seal directly in front of the driver. It extends about a foot down towards bottom of glass.
It has cracked in stages, about four inches at a time. I took in to the dealer they are replacing it.
They will replace it everytime its a factory defect and not a rock.
