I contacted the e bay seller and he asked me to pay him another $15, and ship the bad ballast back at my cost, then he'll send me another ballast... I'm not happy about that... any suggestion?
Probably not the answer you're looking for; but dump that crap and get a 4300k kit from www.mobilehid.com/scionlife

With electronics you generally get what you pay for... you paid a cheap price, but it sounds like you got a cheap product.

I installed it and it worked for 1 day... then it started to act up. As a matter of fact, I drove up to Walmart with both lights on...came out of walmart and one of them would turn on first, then cut off after a few seconds... I got home and check all the wiring and it was still doing the same thing...turn on at first, then shut off with the car being perfectly still... so I ruled the "loose wire connection" issue

I went with 4300k for lows 35 watts, 3000k for high with 50 watt ballast and oem halogen for fogs for the contras. The highs are BRIGHT, but the lows seem dim with the projector lamps, I may upgrade to 50 watt ballasts for those, both with relay kits and parts from operatic on this forum.

Anyway to raise the high beams? I think they are a bit low.

Here is a shot of my setup in rain and dark. I couldnt see the lines on the road in rain with my xa and just 4300k lamps.

I'm curious to know the difference between the Mobile HID kits and the ones offered by Operetic. Thoughts?

Oh and bego, I'm looking towards 6k's as well...seem to look the best.

With projectors, anything over 4300K is a waste. The projectors will produce plenty of color with 4300K. Going with 6000K for projectors is just pointless. Same color, less light.

^ So, if that is the case, what does anything beyond 4300k exist?

Because reflector housings exist and people who want blue lights that don't light up the road exist.

I frequent i95 and i64 and see more and more off color lights everyday. I see a deep blue the most like police lights.

Yeah, nice to see an entry level car made to be like a luxuary car, not riced out for real with off color lights. Other than a show or rave, where can off white hids be useful?

To make any scion look high end, get projector lamps, 4300k hids and white led license plate bulbs. If available, led tail lamps and legal window tint. At night many thought my xa was some new bmw hatch back withthe led tails and hid heads.

I agree with you there cobb. All I need is the projector heads with HID's and I'm pretty much there. Modified my own LED license plate lights, TYC tails, etc etc.

So, if I'm reading correctly, you still get that lexus/audi bluish HID look with 4300k HID's? If that's the case, why are so many getting 6000k?
