Default I don't know what this is.....

...but I know it's not supposed to look like this:

Name: 160.jpg
Views: 104
Size: 82.8 KB

this is what it looks like on the other side of the car (not @#$%ed up):

Name: 161.jpg
Views: 65
Size: 61.3 KB

Just wondering if that does anything important, or should I not be too concerned...

Judging by the bent bolt there (1st pic), I'd say you scraped the car over something. Where is this under the car? I can't quite picture it.

Its right under the front part of the drivers side back door... but I haven't scraped anything ever back there... I would have heard it. I'm kinda thinking the dealership did it... 'cause they have messed up my car in the past...

You're missing a rubber plug there as well. Might want to replace that before you drive in the rain again.
Wonder if the shop did it with the lift?

I wouldn't doubt that the shop did that.... they bent my license plate the last time that I went in too.... they don't care about the cars at all

well... without a pic that shows a better frame of reference it looks like it could possibly be a strong point intended for jacking the car up.
without a better pic, just tossing out an educated guess since Im not familiar with the under carriage of the b's because I have a tC.

Interesting -- now I'm going to have to take a look under mine as well. The only time the dealership has had the car since original pick up was to change oil (I refused tire rotation). Sure enough, they scratched up the driver's door sill paint. I raised a ruckus and they detailed it with solvent to melt the clear coat into the scratches -- it worked but boy, did that stink for awhile. No way I'll take it back again if at all avoidable.

With all these people saying they have a bad dealer I must of been a lucky one. My shop is great

yea, definitely count yourself lucky... my dealership generally does a pretty good job, but there's just little things here and there that they mess up on sometimes...

a single event is one time too many for me... i feel like they don't respect the cars at all anymore

Maybe it's just another example of the more they pat themselves on the back, the less reliable they probably are. My Mitsubishi Eclipse dealer has generally done decent work and I'm unaware of them causing any damage. They're also very low key regarding their work. On the other hand, my Toyota dealer can hardly stop talking about how wonderful they are, and when my sill got scratched up (driver's floor and sill were covered with sandy dirt from some kid's sneakers -- I could even see the sole pattern), they were "shocked" and assured me nothing like that had ever happened before and all their other customers loved them. Well, that was the first of my "free" oil changes and I'll do the rest myself thank you!

The Toyota mechanics may well be great, but the kids they hire for the miscelaneous tasks are exactly that -- kids. I want them nowhere near my car, once was more than enough.
