oiled filters require a special cleaning kit and needs to be oiled after it is cleaned

dry filters generally can be cleaned by splashing it about in a bucket of water

There was free shipping and 3.41 in tax. $47.41 total. My ship date mysteriously changed from "09/12/2008 - 09/17/2008" to 9/15/2008 to 9/18/2008". It might be backordered. But I just got a new paper filter recently so I can wait. I figure it's good to have a (clean) paper filter around anyway to use if you happen to be cleaning your 'good' filter and need to drive somewhere.

 

15k needs: LOF, rotate, replace filters, basic checkover for wear and warranty.
$100 or so.

 

Damn... Auto Anything sent me the oiled version. Still contemplating keeping it or getting the Pro Dry.

Any benefits of oil vs. dry?

dry flows better and maintanence is not as complicated but does not filter as well

oil doesn't flow as well but filters better

 

wowo i totally was wondering this also. i am going to go get something done tomorrow. camelback charges like $179 for that service and avondale charges like $169. and when i read what they do it dont seem like much. i have a friend whos is a mgr and a brake masters and said he can do it all for like $50 bucks. but isnt it better to get this all done from the dealership? or do they just want you do think that so can they can charge outrageous prices?? thanks
